Chapter Text
A black dragon was laying on the floor, his eyes opened revealing blue reptilian eyes, looking around, he realized he was somewhere unfamiliar, the place around him looked nothing like what he had ever seen before in his four years of living.
He wasn't in the cell where the noble human had the audacity to keep him in, there were no people around him, and he couldn't sense any presence. The dragon turned his head in order to inspect his surroundings more, he noticed it late but the mana chains around his neck were no longer there as if they had magically disappeared, his body was still littered with unhealed wounds, it hurt every time he moved.
The four-year-old dragon didn't know what was going on, but he knew he needed to be cautious since he was in an unknown place, there were many trees around him, leading him to think that he was in a forest of some kind. He felt footsteps drawing near, and as if on instinct, the dragon activated his mana that had been locked away for years, for the first time in his life, he cast an invisibility spell on himself. It wasn't perfect, but it would do.
There was a rustling noise nearby, and the dragon immediately flapped his wings and flew to a tree to hide, he knew he already had an invisibility spell cast, but he didn't want to risk being captured again. There were footsteps heard and the dragon saw them. Humans. There was a group of humans walking into the area he had been laying in before, a human was looking around seemingly confused to find nothing in the surroundings.
The human spoke in a language the dragon hadn't heard of before but somehow understood, "I swear, I sensed something here, it was powerful and had a presence that could be similar, if not even stronger than an unranked monster! I don't get why my ability would lead us to nothing, that wouldn't make any sense!"
Another human with a sword turned to the rest of the people with him and said, "We should look around a bit more to be safe, let's split up, but remember to have your phones ready to signal or message anything if necessary. Maybe the monster Team Leader Hwang sensed is still around, be careful." All the other humans nodded and went different ways. The dragon noticed that all of them were dressed strangely, was there a new trend that humans followed? That evil Venion dressed quite differently from the humans here.
It also seems that one of the humans here sensed him in some way, they also mentioned something about an 'ability', was that something that humans typically had?
Before the dragon could do anything else, however, he felt a sudden burst of exhaustion in his body, it felt like his invisibility spell couldn't last long, and his body was very quickly getting tired.
Perhaps because of the fact that this was the first time he's tried to use his mana for as long as he couldn't remember, as well as the fact that his body was still injured, that his mana was quickly depleting, his invisibility spell was starting to fade and he was close to panicking, after all, there were humans around. Being visible around humans never led to anything good for the four-year-old dragon.
From his position on a branch of a tree, he felt a presence coming near him, he turned to see a human. The human had dark hair like the other ones he saw earlier, wearing all black, seemingly shocked when he saw the dragon.
Blue and reddish-brown eyes met, and in an instant, the dragon was on guard, his wings were spread and ready to be used in order to fly away, just in case this human tried anything.
Kim Roksoo's eyes widened, he didn't know why there was a dragon, heck, he didn't even know that dragons existed until now, none of his records had anything similar to the dragon in front of him. However, before Kim Roksoo could do anything he noticed how tense the dragon looked, how its small paws were clenched, the raw wounds on the reptilian skin, and the wary blue eyes that looked back at him, assessing his every move.
Another thing that he noticed was that the dragon was not unlike the western dragons he saw in movies - that - and also the fact that the dragon was small. Very small. A child dragon perhaps?
Kim Roksoo's mind short-circuited for a bit before he focused on the second word. A child . A child that was obviously hurt and filled with wariness and fear, he vaguely considers bringing the dragon with him, knowing full well that the two others waiting for him wouldn't like that a lot. But still, he couldn't leave a child here, so he did what he thought would be the best.
"Are you hungry? I'll feed you."

Kim Roksoo hears the ringing sound of his phone and shifts the weight in his arms to be able to use one hand and get the device from his pocket. The dragon looked intensely at the phone, not knowing what it was, startling a bit when he heard a voice coming from the device. Kim Roksoo pretends not to notice and focuses on the phone call he was receiving.
"Roksoo-yah?" A man's voice echoed through the forest, blue eyes stared as the human holding him - Roksoo? What a weird name - answered the voice.
"Team Leader, what is it?"
"Most of the members of the search team already reported back saying that they found nothing, have you found anything? If not, you should just go back to the building, it was most likely a false alarm, that, or the monster Team Leader Hwang sensed already left long ago." Kim Roksoo thought for a bit, Lee Soohyuk would probably not like it if he just waltzed into the company building with a dragon in his arms. He hadn't talked with the dragon much yet, however, he did see that the dragon can turn invisible so maybe he could do something with that.
He responded with a short, "I'll look around for a bit more Team Leader." The dragon heard a sigh from the other side of the - what even was that again?
"Haa...just make sure you come back later and be careful you punk." Kim Roksoo processed the worry - why would the team leader be worried about him? - in the team leader's voice just as the phone call ended and decided that he'd put that thought away for now. He looked at the dragon in his arms that was staring straight back at him, the blue reptilian eyes were still fogged with wariness and fatigue.
He looked around the forest, seeing a nice place under a tree to sit on, he went there and did just that, gently setting the dragon on his lap, careful to not aggravate any of its wounds or hurt it.
"So, could you turn invisible again? It would be hard to feed you if you're completely out for everyone to see, I don't exactly have anything big enough to cover you." The dragon stared at him, not answering, Kim Roksoo didn't know if the dragon even understood anything he said, it yawned, stretching its limbs a bit and flopping on his lap in a position that can only be deemed comfortable by a dragon.
Kim Roksoo hummed, "A nap huh? I guess that's not bad, I'm tired too." Logically, he knew that he shouldn't be napping in the middle of a forest, with a dragon he randomly found nonetheless, but he also knew that sleep was good for children and that he was extremely exhausted.
Kim Roksoo looked at the black blob on his lap and in a sleepy subconscious, put a hand on the scally head of the dragon, he could feel the dragon freezing up from under his palm, but he was already falling asleep to give that more thought.
This human was weird. Very weird.
This human offered him food. This human carried him. This human put his guard down and fell asleep, the dragon didn't know what to feel, humans were bad. Humans were evil. What made this human so different?
He focused on the warmth on his head where the hand of the human was. Ah . Maybe that's why. This human was warm. This human was kind. Not anything like Venion. Not anything like the cold dark cell he was forced to be in ever since he was born.
His eyes were slowly closing, and the last thing the dragon thought of before falling asleep was that the touch this human gave him was different from the touch he received before. This touch felt nice, felt warm, felt kind.
This touch felt safe .
