Summary
Eyk Larsen was just getting used to his position as a Captain when the Prometheus disappears without a trace on its way to New York. The ship company claims it was an accident, but Eyk isn’t convinced.
On his next trip to New York aboard the Kerberos, he is determined to investigate the ship’s disappearance. But when he learns that the ship company owner, Dr Henry Singleton, travels with them, has to keep a low profile to protect himself and his crew.
When Eyk meets Henry’s quiet daughter Maura, he thinks of her as nothing more than an obedient rich woman. He finds out just how wrong he is as Maura discovers his biggest secret, and in turn reveals parts of her past which might lead them to the truth about what happened to the Prometheus.
