Work Text:
Clive names their first child Joshua.
The boy has light brown-gold hair, a mixture of his own and Jill's. His hair glitters a tad bit darker than Joshua's used to, and Clive's heart stutters whenever the name Joshua Rosfield echoes in his lips.
As Joshua grows up to be a healthy young toddler, Clive stops flinching at the mention of his deceased brother, gradually relaxing even as Jill tells their son about his lost uncle.
But healing takes time, and right after the baby is born, right after naming him after his brother, Clive cringes every time their child's name leaves his mouth.
So one day, Jill calls in Jote.
And asks her to be Joshua's Godmother.
Jote holds baby Joshua in her arms, and cries.
"Does he have a middle name yet?" She asks.
And when both Clive and Jill say no, Jote holds up a shaky finger and gently brushes it against Joshua's cheeks.
"Joshua. Joshua Dion Rosfield."
The baby giggles.

Even before their second baby is born, both Clive and Jill know what they are going to name him.
Two years after Joshua, Jill gives birth to Cidolfus Rosfield.
Their second son has dark hair that looks just like Clive's, and Gav tears up upon hearing his newly given name. "I'm not letting you smoke, ever." Gav tells Cidolfus as he wipes his eyes slowly.
Clive calls Mid after sharing a look with Jill, and Mid says yes even before the couple ask her the question.
"Yes! I mean, yes, I'd love to be his godmother-"
Midadol Telamon kneels down next to Cidolfus's little hands, and remembers the hands that used to hold hers when she was a child.
Remembers the hands that taught her how to be herself, the hands that made all of this possible.
And Mid carefully plants a soft kiss on Cidolfus's forehead, in a goodbye and hello she was never able to give to her own Cid.
"Hello, Cidolfus."
