Chapter Text
Something felt off. Jon could tell. There was something wrong going on today. Martin had been following them around while they had been trying to finish up their preparation for The Unknowing. No one had talked to them either. The only person they had seen was Martin, who was clearly doing his best to not be seen, and, mind you, failing miserably.
Jon went into Document Storage, trying their best to get away from being followed for a while. They decided to try lying down to get a bit of shuteye. There was going to be a long trip ahead after all. One that they might not even come back from. Just as Jon sat on the bed to relax for a moment., there was an unsure knock on the door.
"Hey, Jon, could I talk to you for a minute? I promise it wont take long. I just have a few things I wanted to tell you." The voice, clearly Martin, was unsure.
"Alright, fine, just don't take too long. I was going to try taking a nap before...everything." There was a small silence that held in the air, before the door gently swung open with a creak. Martin took a small breath, before beginning to speak again, nervous.
"Could I sit down? This is kind of important." Jon pauses for a moment, they couldn't decipher what Martin meant by his tone. He was also playing with the hem of his jumper.
"Alright, I guess? Just make this quick, please." Jon felt uncomfortable already. They hated invasions of their personal space. Especially when it was by people they weren't exactly happy to share the space with in the first place, even if they did 'trust' Martin a little more now. However, Jon felt obligated to hear him out.
"Well, I have been thinking about everything for a while, and, well, I uh..."
"Good Lord, Martin, just-" Jon felt desperate seeming lips being crashed against their own.
It was very wet. They were stunned and didn't know how to react to the situation, so they just sat there. Martin, on the other hand was enjoying himself immensely, and doing his darndest to get his tongue down Jon's throat. He had his hand in Jon's hair, pulling Jon into him. It was very unpleasant. They had never really enjoyed kissing with tongue. It was a very uncomfortable feeling. Plus, Jon found himself wondering when the last time Martin or themself had brushed their teeth properly. They just wanted this to end.
Martin's phone rings, and Jon decides that there is, in fact, a God. Martin quietly apologizes, and takes the phone out of the room, but not before placing a kiss on Jon's cheek. A kiss that was equally as wet as the first, and equally unpleasant. Jon wipes it off as soon as they regain control of their arms, and quickly takes their things out of Document Storage. They sit down in their office with their things for a little bit, before getting a message from Tim with two words.
"We're leaving."
Christ, Jon couldn't even remember the last time they got a text from Tim where he used all proper grammar, nevermind punctuation. This was going to end badly.
'Then again,' they thought, 'I don't think there is a single reality where today was going to be a pleasant experience.'
They never knew how right they would be in the end.
