CHAPTER 13 : Aftermath
//—————————————————//
The whistling sound of air being cut by metallic wings reverberating throughout the temporary camp with V landing down with a heavy thud.
She sported an unmistakably frown that had an icy curtain behind her visor, so icy that any other drones froze in fear when her eyes fell on them for mere moments, the confrontation with Uzi and her departure without seeing her daughters had put her in a terrible mood.
She wanted nothing more than to slam the hell out of the emo-adult worker drone until her face was screeching mess, absolute, fucking destruction.
“-I might be… able to bring him back.”
Stupid, annoying woman. That's what Uzi is, a fucking moron, Robo-god. For crying out loud! Use the Solver, something they knew would likely fuck up everyone, which in turn means putting everyone's safety alongside Aralee and Luzi's safety, to bring back someone who would choose the opposite if it means keeping everyone safe.
What the hell is she thinking?! No, the gremlin was clearly not thinking at all.
She herself wanted N to come back, Uzi should know that as well, she dreamt of it every now and then, but what Uzi was doing was downright reckless, N would be displeased as well!
Goddamn purple, freaking, bitchass, shortstack.
V frowned even more, continuing to power walk towards her daughter who was somewhere in the camp when suddenly, a closely acquainted voice of her boss rang out from behind her.
“-That was a shitshow if I've ever seen one. ” J walked up to her, the twin-tailed murder drone wearing a frown of her own.
V turned to her and sighed, wishing for rest and not dealing with any more adult stuff for the rest of the day. “Look J, I'll just tell you the details later, I'm goddamned tir-”
“-You don't have to,” J cut her off, V had an annoyed look on her face, when she suddenly processed what J said, before she could ask what she meant by that the corporate-minded drone spoke before her. “I heard everything, I happened to be close by when I was figuring out the most coefficient way we could slap the hard light-patch to that measly leak in our underground ceiling.”
V narrowed her optics, then rolled them, knowing damn well that J had intentionally eavesdropped during her drama with Uzi, she didn't even see J anywhere during that time… and if that was the case, how close was J? She knew Tessa gave her one hell of a calibration for enhancing senses but if she was somewhere during that time and she couldn't even see her, then that's one useful trick to have, because the distance from the building and this camp was nothing to scoff at.
Either J was fast enough to get back with her at the same time as her arrival without wings, or she just had that kind of hearing to be able to hear the drama with Uzi.
Sides, not like J is the type of drone to lie.
She was annoyed however, at the fact that someone had to eavesdrop, even if J was technically a part of the family, it would've been nice if she showed up and helped dealing with Uzi.
Either way, this works out for her, she wouldn't have to deal with an annoyingly gruesome work of explaining details bit by bit to her.
And just wanted to get some rest with her daughters for the time being.
V ran a hand on her bangs and sighed. “Well if you happened to be close by, then It also happens that I don’t need to tell you anything and also, I need a break now, go deal with everything yourself for now.”
J shrugged, having no problems with that. “The mess has already been taken care of, and the special-categories are dead, we just need a lifting hand to attach the hard light-patch on the hole.”
The maternal drone groaned, looking to the direction where her daughter was likely at, before looking back to J.
“ Fine , but this better be the last for today.” V stated, walking towards the area where the hard light-patch was currently being prepared.
“That was a stupid move by the way.” J said from behind her, causing V to look back to her and raise a digital eye brow.
“Screaming out Uzi's name in public, I mean. Just saying.” J specified.
V gave her an ‘Are you seriously doing this right now’ expression, throwing her hands up in the air in frustration. “Do you want me to help or not?”
“Fine, fine, fine, I'll zip my mouth.” J made a zipping motion to her mouth. To which V just glared at her and proceeded to the patch machine.
‘Freaking divas and drama queens.’ J thought, well, not like she was any better.
//—————————————————//
“Move to the right- no, no, too much-” V instructed Meili as she stayed afloat with one of the hard light-patch segments with her, both hands grappling onto the surprisingly light piece of machinery despite what its appearance suggested.
Meili on the other hand struggled to fly with a stable consistency as one of her bladed wings refused to stay still. “I'm- Trying!”
It took them a few more minutes until Meili was finally able to attach the piece of machine to one of the more stable parts of the ceiling, with V doing the same before descending to grab the other segments.
It took them half an hour in total to embed all of the segments due to Meili's flight problems, when everything was finally done, the hard light-patch lit up, bringing life to a transparent but solid construct made out of light and covering the giant hole.
After that procedure was done, she and Meili descended back to the ground and met with J who had a few JESSA employees with her.
“Alright, that should last for a few weeks before we have to maintain it to keep the integrity of the shield.” J stated, “Thanks for the help V, we'll handle everything from here.”
“Finally.” V exclaimed, walking away towards the camp, Meili to talk with J about the situation on the campus above and the other possible leaks they had to patch.
“-ith the leaks and information, where's Quinzlet anyways-” From the looks of it, she's looking for her little not-daughter figure/little fan.
Eh, that's not her problem any more.
Her little spitfire of a daughter took some time to find as the crowd around the camp increased, multiple drones from JESSA scrutinized the area while a few civilians came to ask of their family and friends that may have been left in the mall, Luzi was amongst that crowd, surprisingly with Lizzy and an offline Doll — Who after being patched up by Lizzy, had decided to take a nap from her overstrained and exhausted state — resting nearby.
‘Come to think of it, Luzi hasn't seen Lizzy in a while now.’
V let out an exhausted ‘breathe’, good to know Luzi stayed with people she was close with while she was busy talking to Uzi.
Luzi let out a small gasp and stopped whatever conversation she was having with her Auntie Lizzy after seeing her mom finally come back.
“Mom!”
“Oh cool, just run off without finishing the conversation.” Lizzy quickly snide in with no hostility to her voice, she instead smiled, seeing V again. “How's it going, Mrs. Hero-of-the-day?”
V opened her arms and caught an arms-full of Lizzy who stuck to her like glue, V tiredly smiled at her daughter and rolled her optics at Lizzy. “Like a whole damn building just fell on me, figured you'd be here if Russian Cyclops was.”
Lizzy was quick to wear a scoffing expression. “Ugh, one of our few days off and a stupid Eldritch just comes in and ruins it all, like, seriously?”
The social-queen bee did not appreciate the rude interruption the Mole-Eldritch had on their rare outing, much less rendering her Russian Cyclops to such a state.
Speaking of Eldritch…
Lizzy tilted her head and asked V. “What was that explosion bizz all about? It'd be totally cringe on pig-tails to have such terrible security if more than one Eldritch got in.”
“That ‘ cringe’ probably killed at least a hundred people today.” Luzi got off V, looking at her mother in curiosity, as she herself was interested in what her mother had encountered and who this certain person she had to talk with.
Lizzy shrugged, not like she could have done anything herself, she wasn't prepared for the sudden attack and would have likely gotten in the way if she had tried to help. “So, was U ndoing the damages of an eldritch that looks like a Z ebra if you tried hard enough to imagine it with different colors that I nherently hard?”
V noticed the strange emphasis on several words and usage of subjects one wouldn't even use without context in a conversation, she was confused for a moment until it clicked. Lizzy practically just said ‘Was it the overgrown emo?’
V huffed, nostalgic impression in her eyes, for a popular girl who'd typically do some random stupid thing if it had sounded like a ‘hot topic’ enough, she had sharp intuition, she hadn't even said anything yet.
Well, this is Lizzy, she had her moments from time to time.
V ran a hand through her hair and sighed for the umpteenth time today, “It was especially annoying actually, I had to do a little bit of damage control as fast as I could, everything there looked burned and angsty.”
Words with hidden meanings were passed around the two adults, Lizzy made a disgusted — However, inwardly relieved — expression before rolling her eyes. “Ugh, of course.”
Funnily enough, Luzi was looking back and forth between the two as per tradition, completely confused by their usage of words. “What???”
“As for the certain person I had to talk to,” V looked at her daughter. “It was one of my old acquaintances that handled the crappy tall tower. I was pissed off because they didn't even think about giving us a warning of another Eldritch being in the city.” V reasoned, knowing her daughter was probably curious by her previous state of cold fury. “Could have at least announced her presence.
“Uh,” Luzi stammered. “Well I mean, everyone was kinda busy so I guess they.. Just didn't have time? We just got invaded by an Eldritch.”
V snorted, looking at her daughter and ruffling her hair. “Pfft.. It's funny when you try to talk like an adult.”
“Aughh! Mom?!” Luzi was quick to try and pry off her mother's hand out of embarrassment, only to fail miserably.
“Aw, sweet, ew.” Lizzy said in quick succession, before turning around and picking up the still-unconscious Doll from the floor and giving them a wave. “I'm sure you can handle all that purple business of yours drama-queen, so I'm gonna go now and get babayaga back home so she can rest, give me a ring, byeeeee.”
Just like that, Lizzy was gone in a flash.
“...Okay just pointing this out mom, but you adults are weird.” Luzi quickly said upon Lizzy's farewell, looking at her mom with an obligatory bombastic side-eye. She had noticed that once a while, even if serious or mature, the adults would sometimes do something ridiculous or unbefitting of their age.
V could only palm her head in agreement. “You don't even know half of it, kiddo.”
The disassembly drone's eyes fell on her daughter's bandaged torso and turned regretful, regret at her inability to arrive any sooner to her daughter's aid.
“Luzi, are you.. Okay?” The parent drone asked. Luzi looked at her in confusion, before remembering what she had just been turned into, a piece of bolt.
“Oh! Right, haha… Crazy huh, guess plot armor was keeping me alive for a moment there,” The purple-haired drone said nervously, to be fair, running into the battlefield without any experience or confirmation that her weapon worked was downright stupid. Other than the fact she was somehow alive, Luzi realized how badly that could have turned out if the Eldritch had aimed a little higher to her chest.
V turned to face her daughter, slamming two hands on her shoulders, the hybrid ‘gulped,’ the moment of respite was done and the fight had already passed. As much as she knew her mom loved her, she knew she was damn well cooked for her actions today.
V looked at her with a serious expression, something that Luzi only became at the receiving end when her mother was going to say something important or serious — That or some serious scolding.
Her mother opened her mouth-
Luzi tiredly closed her eyes, she deserved it this time around. But instead of receiving any expected scoldings, Luzi merely felt the metallic embrace of her mother, causing the girl to be confused, but albeit giddy and embarrassed — the latter being mostly because they were still in a crowded area.
“Never, ever, do that again. Alright?” V strictly emphasized, “Don't ever run into danger.”
Luzi weakly nodded her head. Again, her mother was right, she shouldn't have ran it like that into battle, but she just couldn't sit still while her relatives and people she knew die fighting while she sat comfortably at her home… But wait, didn't she end up being helpful by creating a chain of events which led to her mother arriving in the underground-
“And no, if you're thinking about how it technically brought me here and allowed all of us to beat the Eldritch in battle, that was pure luck kid.” Luzi visibly deflated when her mother said this.
“But I-” She tried to get a word in.
Only for her mother to cut her off, “Nu uh kid, if this was a way to prove yourself or something, you don't need to. Know that I've always been proud of you.”
Luzi paused…
Okay, maybe that was.. She wasn't going to lie, she went here with the intent to help out, but inside her stupid programming, there was a treacherous thought of her's to be recognized by her mother in a way.
Finally encountering an actual Eldritch and nearly dying made her rethink some of that.
Luzi sighed, lowering her head in defeat. “I just wanted to help…”
“I know, but that doesn't stop it from being reckless.” V smiled softly.
“...”
“...”
No words were exchanged momentarily, until V broke the deafening silence and consoled her daughter. “Of course, that doesn't mean you have to be reckless forever.”
Luzi perked up like a hummingbird and looked at her mother in confusion, what did her mother mean..? “What.. Do you mean mom?”
V grinned. “What else, my little angsty daughter? I'm cutting half of my work to train you.” Luzi slack jawed, t-train her? Knowing her mother's reputation and fame for being a heroic figure for the drones, a younger her had tried to receive training from her mother, while she didn't outright refuse it, V barely had the time nor reason to do it, being too overprotective. But this was.. it's so sudden!
“S-Seriously?! Just like that?! I mean- I was going to ask you again but I didn't expect you'd-”
The rest of her sentence was interrupted when V cupped her hair, patting her head. “Don't sweat the details kid, I know you've been waiting for this for a long time now.”
Obviously, it was because of today's sudden events that caused V to actually mind the idea of training her daughter, aside from guiding Luzi on how to fly as a younger smaller drone, that was pretty much the extent of how much she trained her.
But seeing her daughter have a close brush with death made her consider changing that.
“O-Oh my gosh finally! I can finally help out-” Luzi joyfully beamed, at least the notion of helping out was clear in her motherboards.
Though, unfortunately for her, V did not mean it like that. “-Not for that reason, Luzi. It's for you to protect yourself and anyone close to us, you're not going to be actively fighting alongside me or anyone. Just train you to the point where you can survive any encounter or help someone, not train to fight ungodly abominations.”
Luzi's joy turned reasonably frustrated. “But, why? Wouldn't it be better if I could actually help out in fighting these monsters? I made my awesome-railgun for that reason!”
“Okay, I’ll applaud your admittedly cool weapon, but having you near any of these monsters is something I don’t want, muchless actually risking your life fighting them.” V looked at her daughter apologetically, “It’s not that I’m stopping you from helping out or anything, It’s just, we’re already here so no one from your generation has to fight.”
‘And I’m scared. Of losing you or your sisters.’
V hoped that her daughter would understand, Luzi had just gotten a close brush with death, and knowing how much Luzi resembled Uzi in-terms of personality and drive, she knew the girl would either use this drive to fight back against the Eldritches or do something about their existence, it would just place her in danger, something she didn’t like.
Luzi herself wanted to complain that this was unfair to a certain extent, it was unreasonable but also illogical if you would look at other points of view, however, she knew her mother was simply afraid and worried.
Considering that she just got the donut treatment she’d seen only in anime.
The girl looked a little despondent, for both female drones, they were in turmoils of their own feelings whirling inside. Both loved each other, but they also crossed with each other, one wanted to simply protect the other, while the protected wanted to help.
V sighed. “Look, Luzi I just want to..”
“No, I get it mom..” Luzi looked away, then turned back to her mother.“But, can you still at least let me help in other ways..?”
That made her look at her daughter with a slight shock, she thought she would put up a little bit of rebellious angst, but had rather received a mature answer from her daughter. V proudly smiled, knots knitting around her ‘stomach’ after her daughter made such a response so quickly.
Now that she thought about it, she barely noticed her daughter’s advancement in maturity over the years, not because she wasn’t paying attention or anything, more like she was too busy with work to properly see this side of her daughter. Talking to her like this, and giving her this level of understanding made her maternal side giddy.
“Of course.” It made her proud, but that didn’t mean it felt right to refuse her daughter’s will to help on the battlefield alongside her.
//—————————————————//
V carried her daughter like a bird does to its chick on their way home, letting the hybrid-drone flutter her own holographic wings while she maneuvered and used her greater speed to get there much faster, she desperately needed that well-needed rest and recharge, having gotten no sleep for more than two days now.
Her metallic wings flapped as they slowed down, with V descending down and letting her daughter land first before landing herself.
It was only till then that Luzi remembered who was currently inside their home. “Oh right! Brad and Quinz are here mom, they watched over the little ones while I left to help Aunt J.”
V hummed. “Hoh? Lizzy’s brat and J’s not-daughter huh? Well, I guess it’s fine.”
Luzi knocked on the door and tapped the password of the keypads to their home, prompting a ring sound and opening the door, revealing a slightly-stressed out Quinzlet and worried Brad inside, while the two younger drones were simply sitting around until they picked up on the sound of the door opening.
“Mom! Sis!” The two said in unison, rushing towards Luzi and V upon entering.
“Aralee! Vivi!” Luzi immediately caught a handful of her sisters and hoisted both in each arm, giving them a tight hug as if she'd almost permanently left them — Oh wait, she did. — Donut treatment aside, I'd be better if these two never get hold of the knowledge of her almost dying.
“What, no hugs for me?” V's head popped from behind her oldest daughter, feigning a hurt expression on her visor.
“Mama!” The smaller drones immediately gasped, jumping out of Luzi's grasp who gently set them down and lunged at V, who caught them both with ease and little to no struggle — These little critters hit hard, but not for V.
And most importantly, V felt happy once more, back once more with her family and not having to be outside that stinking, wintery, cold environment past the gates. She could've gone meeting them again without having her daughter literally impaled and having the shittiest K-Drama with Uzi, but it is what it is.
Her optics landed on the visiting duo behind Luzi and raised an eyebrow.
“Greetings Miss V, I hope we're not intruding much. We'd have warned you beforehand if the option was available.” Quinzlet was quick to take reign and greet V, as a proper etiquette move, she bowed her head. Looking to the side, she saw her idiot male friend scratching his head like a goofball and sighed. She subtly elbowed Brad who was scratching the back of his head, bringing the boy out of his awkward inability to say anything at the moment.
“Oh uh, hello again Miss V. Sorry we didn't tell you in advance we'd be here.” Brad quickly greeted in respect. He blinked, before adding up another to his comment. “I mean if we could have…?”
V narrowed her eyes at them, briefly intimidating the two teenage droids with her gaze, a mental image of her shadowed and looking above the two as they shrank further from the V-stare.
Which quickly disappeared when she calmed her expression and snorted. “Didn't I tell you to call me aunt, Brad?”
“I uh- I mean-” Brad stammered.
“Just messing with you Brat, I saw your mom not just a few minutes ago. But do call me that next time, we're practically family.” V looked to Quinzlet. “Oh and, did you report back to J yet? I'm pretty sure she's looking for you.”
The business minded drone froze, seemingly forgotten to report back to J before going to Luzi/V's household. “I may… have forgotten, oops.”
Quinzlet hastily excused herself from the household after that, with Brad following along with a “I should check up on mum too.”, Luzi gave them a thanks before the two had left.
After the two left, the household had gone in a small celebration of reunion, with the two youngest immediately going on full hyper mode. It took some time for the two to quiet down until V finally said she needed a small rest.
“Ughh..” V practically flopped on their living room couch, letting out a breath of exhaustion now that she was finally able to rest. A few minutes later Luzi came back with a glass of oil.
“Hey mom, need a drink?” Luzi offered, placing it on the table.
“Yeah, thanks..” V tiredly said, leaning forward and grabbing the glass, taking in a sizeable sip. A few seconds at looking at the ceiling out of exhaustion, she sighed. She placed the glass back to it's place and noticed several cracks and dents throughout her arm, something she didn't notice until now in worry for Luzi Taking a look at her arms.
Metallic dents and scratches, web-like cracks in the pristine White-painted metal skin of hers. Blows that would have outright dismantled her, if not for the bullshit programming that was designed to be ‘human’ adrenaline. Hits she miraculously managed to take because of some asinine programming.
“Was it.. That strong?” Luzi spoke from the side, taking a seat on a chair nearby. V simply straightened her arms and rolled them for Luzi to see, the girl winced at the sight. “I uh, wow. I don't think I'd be holding anything for days if I had those.”
V snorted. To her, the damage was simple annoyance she could ignore, but she'd need to stop by at JESSA's for repairs later. Her weapon system was compromised so switching her hands weren't plausible, and she needed those heavily.
“You wouldn't even have arms if you had these damages. That thing made the mistake of ever touching you.” V hmph'd.
Luzi blushed embarrassment, hidden beneath was an appreciation for her mother. “That'll only happen once.. I won't make the same mistake mom.”
V smiled, Giving her a toothy smirk. “I'll take you up on that one, brat.”
Internally, V felt at peace. This was more like it, just some peace with her family inside their home. Thankfully that business with the Eldritch was done… For now, she grimaced.
There was no doubt there was going to be more of those bastards popping up here and there now that Uzi has joined the fray.
But that's another thing to worry about for another time.
Though, it feels like as if she's forgetting about something… Meh, probably nothing important.
//—————————————————//
Self-esteem was a funny thing, a weird concept some human teenagers had deal with in their puberty and up to adulthood, if you had a low self esteem, you would usually bring yourself down to the dirt and place other above you even when nothing implied it. Have a high self esteem and you'd be confident of yourself, have too much and you become too arrogant.
Sometimes he'd think to himself, does he have a good self-esteem of himself?
Even if he's not that particularly good looking he still did his best, usually helping out his fellow survivors despite any kind of cowardice or fear that enroaches his mind.
That at least had to add up to his self esteem right?
He had enough presence to be at least be remembered right..?
Shit.. “She didn't forget about me did she? Please tell me she didn’t.” Isaac pleaded to no one as he lay down on the cold fluffy snow, the sounds of combat down that had originated below near the gigantic crater — Which now had a weird blue light expanding across, reminiscent to a wound that had been patched with a plaster — that pierced to the underground had long since been snuffed out.
He hoped the ever beautiful Miss V would come out any time soon to grab him and get him out of here, even if it's mostly to grab her satchel back — Which surprisingly, looked rather edgy — and help him find his Teacher.
If he hadn’t lost it yet from all the waiting and staying still for the sake of his life, his built in clock is clearly telling him he's been here for a whole FOUR hours out in the open.
Any dumbass worth their scrap would know it was a stupid idea to be out of cover when ungodly mechanical-flesh monsters could suddenly come out and rip him to shreds. Miss V had told him to stay put, obviously that didn't mean he had to stay on the same spot for four hours.
Of course, he wasn't stupid enough to do something like that, he'd be at least somewhere inside a secure building that allowed for easy exits and mobility…
IF HE COULD! Holy shit!
Isaac shook in fear as he tried to be unmoving as much as possible. Trying to shrink inwardly as he calculated every plausible deity to pray to, just for that thing to leave him be!
Atop a building was a winged Eldritch that had three heads next to each other, with multiple drone limbs protruding from it's buddy. All of its fleshy eyes directed at him.
This was suffocating, the tension and fear for his life lest he made any sudden movements.
Isaac prided himself in being able to survive a lot of scuffles, but against that , a Sky Peeler, he was not.
The other survivors taught him about it, about this particular kind of Eldritch. Sky Peelers, just like it's name implies, will fly to the skies and peel you off the ground, fly you up to the air and brutally slam you down and proceed to eat you.
Isaac internally cursed at himself, having forgotten what category this Eldritch had belonged to, and how to deal with it. All he knew was that once it had it's eyes on you.
You do not move.
Fighting it was an incredibly stupid idea as it could fly ten times faster than a speeding muscle car.
Unfortunately for him, the ground he was laying on suddenly shook, it wasn't an earthquake, more of a light shaking that caused him to be startled and move.
He felt the shaking come from the blasted hole, followed by mechanical sounds of gear attaching to one another.
Isaac internally shat himself, immediately realizing his mistake as he heard the Sky Peeler let out a nightmarish screech, bursting off from its porch.
The teenager immediately kicked off the ground and ran towards the infamous Outpost gate with great haste, digital sweat marred near his optics as he ran away in fear. “Ohshitohshitohshitoshit- OH SHIT!”
He could hear it's screech getting closer and closer, way too fast for him, using his gun wasn't a option since it could probably shrug off weaker calibers from his rifle.
“Gah!” Isaac gasped as he fell down on his face, he twisted around and looked at whatever tripped him. His foot having been caught by a heavy rock concealed in the snow.
Seriously?! Doesn't this shit only happen in movies!
Isaac fearfully looked up as he saw the Sky Peeler dive at him with deadly speed.
I'm fucked. Was the only thing that came to his mind as he screamed, putting his hands in front of him.
The Sky Peeler's talons widened and opened, ready to clasp him and crush his torso.
However.
SHING!
Isaac's optics widened when he saw a familiar shade of purple hair block his view.
The classic sound of a sword cutting through an object so smoothly rang off the air.
Followed by the sounds of two heavy objects colliding with the ground, a shockwave followed after as snow made a small smokescreen.
Isaac's expression visibly brightened as he saw person he respected the most, her silhouette slowly being revealed by the fading snow.
Uzi had her back turned to him as she slowly sheathed back her remaining sword, a beautiful song of a blade reuniting with it's sheath eluded the silent ambience of the snowy city.
Isaac wondered where the Sky Peeler was until he processed two craters perfectly correspondent to one another behind him.
There he found his answer as the perfectly fucking vertically cut Eldritch laid dead.
Holy shit, she just split it in half.
If that wasn't cool then he doesn't what is anymore.
Isaac promptly shook his thoughts away and ran up to his teacher who had been patting snow off her cloak.
“T-Teacher! You're okay!” Isaac gleefully said as Uzi turned to face him, she wore her usual depressed looking expression, however a small smile found it's way to her face as she regarded Isaac.
“You looked pathetic screaming for your life, Isaac.” She immedi threw a harmless mock at him, Isaac instead found it comforting. “Pretty sure I drilled it into your head to never go out dying like that.”
“Yeah- well, I'm alive?” Isaac froze, nervously moving his eyes away.
“...” She stared at him.
Isaac immediately broke down. “...Sorry Ma'am, It won't happen again,” His eyes blinked, “Teacher your—”
Uzi cut him off, both her hands in N's jacket pockets. “It's fixed, don't worry about it. For now, let's retreat back.”
“Wait what about—”
“Everything is done here Isaac, let's go back for now.” Uzi huffed, closing her eyes, before she noticed the satchel currently slung around Isaac. “Isaac, where did you get that?”
Isaac paused, before he noticed she was referring to the satchel. “Oh it's uh, I met Miss V- the person you talked about, she kinda forgot about me and left this hear after she rushed down.. Over there.” Isaac pointed a thumb at the now covered hole.
Isaac didn't know if it was just him, but he could have sworn he saw his Teacher's eyes drop in sadness momentarily.
The grown gremlin immediately put up an emotional mask and sighed. She then hummed as she motioned for him to give it to her.
Isaac complied withour having to be told and handed it to her, the purple haired drone then rummaged through her own bag and stuffed something into the satchel.
She then walked towards the Outpost's reinforced door, Isaac wordlessly following behind her. nostalgic feeling burrowed down on her, as well as sadness as who it reminded it of her when she first met him .
She sighed and gently dropped down the satchel in front of it.
She wasn't ready yet, not until she dealt with all of these.
Wordlessly, she returned back with Isaac back to their base.

…
..
.
The infamous door of Outpost 3 opened with a mighty thung, out with it walked an aged grizzled old worker drone, a little worn out and damaged from the scuffled that had happened inside. His silver optics looking down at the satchel that belonged to one of his own.
The man's head dropped, both with sadness and relief. He took the satchel with him and grasped it tightly, his processors flashed an image of someone dear to him after he had watched the door cameras.
“My dear girl… You're still alive..”
