Chapter Text
Megumi and Yuuji are sitting cross-legged at the couch table and viewing the white sheet of paper that has Megumi's job confirmation printed on it.
Megumi isn't deep in thoughts. Megumi is actually glad that the first hurdle in their plan – the first step in Megumi's revenge – has worked out wonderfully.
Yuuji looks at the document first and then at Megumi.
“What now? What exactly you gonna do?”
Megumi casually shrugs his shoulders.
“Work, I guess.”
“Gonna sleep your way up the corporate ladder?”
Megumi groans for a short moment.
“Ugh, I hope not. Don't wanna.”
Megumi can't work in his entry level position the whole time while being employed at Ryoumen & Gojo Inc.
For his and Yuuji's plan to work, Megumi needs to climb the corporate ladder, but Megumi isn't eager to sleep with people for that. Not, if there are other ways. Not, if Megumi doesn't really have to.
Megumi has yet to figure out in what way exactly he should proceed from now on. Megumi hasn't worked for such a big company yet. His two years of work experience stem from a full-time job at a small-sized company.
Ryoumen & Gojo Inc. isn't just a big-sized company.
Ryoumen & Gojo Inc. is an empire.
“You probably don't have to sleep with anyone,” Yuuji assumes, “You got your qualifications and stuff.”
Megumi isn't convinced.
“They were enough to invite me to the job interview. But I don't think they'll be enough for me to keep the job. I need to find a way to remain in the company beyond my probationary period. I need to stay in that company for a long time.”
“So … what ya gonna do?” Yuuji questions.
Megumi glances at his pink-haired friend and gets lost in some thoughts.
Yuuji Itadori. Twenty-four years old. High school graduate. NEET. Stoner, weed addict, you name it. A criminal — together with Megumi.
Megumi and Yuuji met after both of their parents died.
They met one day, realized that they were sharing the same kind of loss and stuck to each other ever since.
Megumi and Yuuji never got help to deal with their losses.
Megumi and Yuuji are the type of best friends who bonded over their traumas — their similar fates.
Megumi and Yuuji are best friends who have an unbreakable bond. Megumi and Yuuji are best friends who would never betray each other.
They do things together — the good and bad ones. Always.
Yuuji started smoking weed in high school. By now, Yuuji is a weed addict. It's not the best outcome, but Megumi never knew if and how to interfere or deal with Yuuji's coping mechanism. So, he always let Yuuji smoke his joints.
Yuuji isn't a functional part of society anymore. That's why Yuuji is staying at home – most of the time – while Megumi takes care of most things.
Yuuji doesn't think much about himself and the way he's living his life, and Megumi doesn't feel bothered by the fact that Yuuji isn't a functional part of society anymore.
It’s okay. Because Megumi is taking care of Yuuji — his best friend. His only close friend.
After two years of foster care, Megumi was forced to provide for himself. And then he had to provide for himself and Yuuji. Yuuji — who was a high school graduate, but didn't have a university degree or any kind of job training. Yuuji — who became a weed addict.
Megumi doesn't mind taking care of Yuuji. Doesn't mind earning money for both of them and paying bills for both of them and providing for both of them. It's okay. Megumi is there for Yuuji. Megumi would always take care of Yuuji.
Yuuji comes up with an idea, and his voice snaps Megumi back to the present.
“How about we ask Nob—”
"Don't bring Nobara into this." Megumi is quick to interrupt Yuuji, and frowns. "She has a respectable job."
“You have one, too.”
“You know what I mean.”
“But she might be able to help— …” Megumi frowns some more, and Yuuji goes silent and doesn’t go with his idea anymore.
“That's exactly why we shouldn't bring her into this. She has a respectable job. I'm not gonna risk ruining that for her.”
Yuuji shows a tiny pout, but he understands now.
Megumi has a respectable job, too, but Megumi is also a criminal.
Megumi and Yuuji are criminals.
They are criminals who never got caught – because Megumi is the brains of the duo and Yuuji has valuable connections.
The duo doesn't commit crimes all the time. It's not their main job. Megumi and Yuuji are occasional criminals.
Whenever money is scarce, Megumi and Yuuji would indulge in illegal activities to earn some money.
Scams. Drug dealing. Theft. Robbery. Dealing with stolen goods. Blackmailing.
Dealing with drugs, selling doping pills, dealing with stolen cars and jewelries and other goods. Blackmailing people who have a generous amount of money.
And they've never got caught so far.
Unlike Megumi and Yuuji, Nobara Kugisaki has never been on the wrong side of the law.
Nobara Kugisaki is a good friend Megumi and Yuuji met a few years earlier and have maintained contact with ever since. Megumi and Yuuji rarely meet up with Nobara, but Nobara is a good friend of theirs. They are on good terms with her.
Megumi cares about Nobara, that's why Megumi also cares about not involving Nobara in anything that would bring her to the wrong side of the law. Anything that might get her in trouble.
Because Nobara has a respectable job and Nobara has always abided by the law.
Megumi is back to remembering some more memories.
After high school graduation, Megumi went to business school and met Nobara there. Since Megumi and Yuuji had to take care of living expenses, both of them used to have several part-time jobs. Megumi had his studies, his part-time jobs, and he took care of building up qualifications. It was a struggle more often than not.
Back then, both of them would do those odd jobs because Yuuji hadn't an advanced addiction to marihuana yet. Unlike today, Yuuji could handle certain jobs.
Now, Yuuji cant't study or work anymore. Yuuji can't.
If money was scarce, they would resort to crimes. Always the same kind of crimes. Scams. Drugs, stolen goods, robbery. Blackmailing.
Megumi is the brains and Yuuji is the one with the connections and stuff. The perfect duo.
A few crimes here and there. Easy money. Just to make ends meet. That's why they never stopped doing their part-time jobs, while Megumi was a business school student.
When Megumi graduated from business school, he got a full-time job in a small-sized company. Working there for two years. Megumi worked a full-time job, while obtaining relevant certifications at the same time.
Whatever it was that Megumi focused on, he would never lose sight of his actual goal. Ever since Megumi was eighteen years old, he focused on things that would help him out later. Obtaining necessary qualifications and certifications was important, too.
However, after Megumi's graduation from business school, Yuuji's weed addiction got worse. Megumi can't really explain it because he doesn't understand it, but something concerning Yuuji's mental stability deteriorated at some point. That's when it must have gotten worse. And that is why Megumi doesn't want Yuuji to do any kind of work anymore. Yuuji is the only person left in Megumi's life. Megumi doesn't want Yuuji to suffer. He wouldn't allow that to happen. So, Yuuji wasn't working part-time jobs anymore.
And that's why Megumi had to work part-time jobs instead, while handling his full-time job and getting his certifications.
Those two years were even worse than Megumi's four years in business school.
It was always because of the money — or the lack thereof.
And since one full-time job and two part-time jobs weren't enough to provide for two people and pay off courses, Megumi and Yuuji had to resort to crimes again — on a bigger scale this time.
But they would make sure to be cautious when earning money in an unlawful way. Always.
Megumi and Yuuji would let enough time pass between their illegal activities to not divert the attention of law enforcements to themselves. To not raise suspicions. Only a few times a year.
Not once did they get caught.
Because Megumi always found a way on how to proceed without getting caught and Yuuji always knew someone who knew someone who would finish the rest of their job.
That way, money never lacked for long.
But it's never something they do for long.
It was always something they did once in a while. Whenever they needed the money.
Admittedly, Megumi and Yuuji would also do it sometimes because it was easy money.
Occasional criminals.
When the opportunity was too good to pass on, Megumi and Yuuji would strike as well.
Because easy money is the best money.
Despite all hassles and against all odds, Megumi and Yuuji are the perfect duo.
The perfect friends duo and the perfect criminal duo.
Because Megumi is the brains of the duo and Yuuji is the one with the connections.
The past shaped Megumi considerably.
At sixteen, Megumi was put into foster care for two years — until he turned eighteen.
Once he was an adult, they had no obligations to take care of him anymore.
Megumi had to take care of himself, alone, from then on.
And he did.
Megumi graduated from high school.
Megumi moved in with Yuuji.
Megumi went to business school.
It was brutal, but Megumi managed to graduate from business school with excellent grades.
Megumi started to work.
Simultaneously, Megumi began to obtain certifications.
Megumi didn't work and get those certifications for fun.
Megumi did that to be a suitable candidate for Ryoumen & Gojo Inc.
And he is that, indeed. Suitable.
Megumi got the job.
First actual step in their plan successful.
The second step is next.
Megumi's plan might take years.
But Megumi is willed to get what he desires.
Because Ryoumen & Gojo Inc. deserves nothing else but ruin.
Megumi is obsessed with it.
Ruining Ryoumen & Gojo Inc.
Ruining Ryoumen Sukuna and Gojo Satoru in the wake of it.
Megumi has to become one of the trusted ones within the company.
It's going to take years.
But that's okay for Megumi Fushiguro.
Megumi waited six years for this opportunity to come.
Megumi is finally a part of Ryoumen & Gojo Inc.
He can wait a few more years to reach his ultimate goal.
His revenge.
Megumi Zenin's revenge.
***
One week.
That's how long the newspapers and media outlets talked about Zenin Corp. after they lost against Ryoumen & Gojo Inc.
That Mina and Toji Zenin committed suicide due to the bankruptcy they had to face was talked about in less than four articles. None of them drew the conclusion that the double suicide was an immediate consequence of their defeat against Ryoumen & Gojo Inc.
They didn't care. No one cared.
Reading articles about the clash was torture to Megumi. At the beginning, when his parents were still alive, he didn't read any of them. Because Megumi was worried about his parents instead. He was helpless. Megumi didn't even know the details about the happenings. Megumi's parents never really told him. Megumi's parents never wanted Megumi to worry.
Megumi read news and articles only after his parents had committed double suicide.
A few texts. Interviews. Commentaries.
Why the clash came to existence. How it happened. What Ryoumen & Gojo Inc. did. What Zenin Corp. did. How Ryoumen & Gojo Inc. reacted. How Zenin Corp. Reacted.
When it came to the clash itself, the media never called the people in charge of by their names. It was always 'Ryoumen & Gojo Inc.' and 'Zenin Corp.'. Always. Not Ryoumen Sukuna. Not Gojo Satoru. Not Mina Zenin. Not Toji Zenin. Ryoumen & Gojo Inc. and Zenin Corp.
Megumi read over the texts shallowly. Because Megumi couldn't bear being confronted with details. The death of his parents clung to him like a parasitic leech.
By chance (or was it cruel fate?), Megumi discovered a comment of Ryoumen Sukuna's on his victory against Zenin Corp.
The nasty words. The disrespect.
Ryoumen Sukuna was cruelly bathing in his victorious move against Zenin Corp.
Ryoumen & Gojo Inc. had destroyed Zenin Corp.
Not an ounce of regret. Not an ounce of shame.
Ruining another company felt natural to Ryoumen Sukuna. Ryoumen Sukuna would devour anything that stood in his way. That's how Ryoumen Sukuna called it. He had devoured Zenin Corp.
Megumi couldn't take any more of that. Megumi suffered from a mental breakdown when he read over those lines.
That's why he never bothered finding out what Gojo Satoru had to say to that matter. What Gojo Satoru personally had to say to the clash and its outcome. How he felt about it compared to Ryoumen Sukuna.
Megumi didn't want to face more indignity.
So, from then on, Megumi never read anything about that matter again.
The clash. The outcome. The bankruptcy of his parents' company. The loss his parents suffered from all sides. The double suicide.
Megumi used to be a Zenin for sixteen years. After losing his parents, Megumi was put into foster care. For two years. Because Megumi didn't have any close relatives.
Megumi lost his own identity.
Someone messed up his official documents. Megumi Zenin was basically erased.
That was when Megumi Zenin became Megumi Fushiguro.
Because his foster parents were Fushiguros.
Megumi Zenin never wanted to be Megumi Fushiguro. Megumi hated it. Megumi always used to feel like being forced to carry that new name. That new identity. Megumi used to suffer mentally because of his new name.
Sixteen-year-old Megumi Zenin had a new name: Megumi Fushiguro.
They expected Megumi to live on with his life as though nothing had happened. Not once did any of the adults ask him how Megumi was feeling. How Megumi was coping with his parents' double suicide.
Later in high school, Megumi met Yuuji Itadori. A seventeen-year-old boy who lost his parents in a similarly tragic way. They became good friends. They never stopped being friends. They became best friends.
Megumi found a best friend and an ally in Yuuji Itadori.
They started doing things together. Being each other's support and bonding over the tragic deaths of their parents.
From then on, it was them against the rest of the world.
After graduating from high school and turning eighteen, Megumi lost his right to be in foster care and was forced to live by himself.
Life went on. For everyone.
For everyone except Megumi (and Yuuji).
Ryoumen & Gojo Inc. went on with their business. Just like that. As if nothing had happened.
As if they hadn't driven two people to commit suicide.
Megumi could never live on.
Not until he would give Ryoumen & Gojo Inc. what they deserve.
Megumi was eighteen years old when he decided to take revenge.
Megumi Fushiguro wants to ruin them.
Megumi Zenin will get his revenge.
***
Megumi is sitting at his work desk and waiting. It's strange. Megumi is confused because he is waiting instead of getting introduced to his new job.
Megumi is leaning against his desk, arms propped up by the elbows. Megumi plays with the tip of his cravat. Today, he is dressed in a royal blue shirt, a black cravat, black shoes and black pants.
It's strange. Megumi isn't working yet.
Since Megumi has to wait, he had a look around his new workplace. The department that he is part of consists of one big office space.
An entry level job. Lots and lots of people who are on the same level as Megumi.
Megumi is one of many.
One of many entry level employees. One of many that can get laid-off, if higher-ups don't deem him important.
Megumi can't allow himself to get overshadowed by his peers.
Megumi's qualifications and certifications were enough to get him invited to the job interview, but they are not enough to secure his job position. There are many like Megumi who have similar qualifications and certifications, and who don't want to lose their job either. There are many who will try to overshadow the other to climb the corporate ladder.
Megumi can't allow himself to be unimportant and get laid off in the future.
Megumi has to become a vital part of the company.
It doesn't matter how, Megumi has to.
Because else his revenge won't be able to set in.
“I've never seen you here before.”
Megumi turns around and towards the source of the voice. A young woman with straight, light-blue hair and asymmetrical bangs, and a young woman with short, dark hair are looking at him, amicably. Both of them are dressed in casual work attires.
Megumi blinks indifferently.
“It's my first day at work here.”
The light-blue-haired's face brightens.
“Ohhhh. You must be the new one in the department. Awesome! Welcome. I'm Miwa. This is Mai.”
Miwa points at Mai who in return salutes Megumi with two fingers.
Megumi doesn't answer and blinks. It's not like he's here to make friends. Megumi doesn't want to befriend his co-workers.
“What's your name?” Miwa asks genially.
“Megumi … Fushiguro.”
Sometimes, Megumi hates his surname so much.
Megumi Fushiguro isn't a Fushiguro. Megumi Fushiguro is a Zenin.
Miwa is very much interested in talking to Megumi.
“What was your job interview like?”
Megumi isn't very much interested in talking to Miwa.
However, whenever it's possible, Megumi wants to collect information about two specific people. Megumi doesn't mind doing that on his first day of work.
It's brilliant, actually. Because Megumi is new here. Megumi can feign genuine curiosity about his new workplace and about … them.
“Gojo Satoru was present at my group interview.”
Miwa's eyes widen and a broad smile appears.
“He was?? Gojo Satoru?! Oh my god! The Gojo Satoru? Our CEO?? Mai, did you hear that?? Gojo Satoru!”
Mai doesn't show the same kind of excitement upon Gojo Satoru being mentioned.
Megumi thinks that Miwa is crazy.
But Miwa … Once Gojo Satoru is mentioned by someone else, Miwa won't stop so easily.
“What was he like? What did he look like at your interview? Did he look … good? Handsome? Sexy?”
Megumi is not in the mood for that.
“I don't know. Didn't take a proper look.”
“Naw, c'mon Megumi.”
Megumi needs to do something about Miwa's whining. Megumi needs to change roles between himself and her.
And Megumi has an idea.
Megumi Fushiguro is a new employee at Ryoumen & Gojo Inc. after all.
“What is Gojo Satoru like? I don't mean his looks. What is he like as a businessman — as a CEO of this company?”
This should do, Megumi thinks. I'm a new employee. It's not weird to be curious about Gojo Satoru and Ryoumen Sukuna.
For his plan to work, Megumi wants to gather as much information about Gojo Satoru, Ryoumen Sukuna, the company and literally anything else that might he useful to him.
No.
Megumi needs to gather all of the useful information there is to grab.
Miwa is more than eager to elaborate on that. But Miwa has her own idea of what Megumi could possibly mean.
Miwa clasps her hands together in a daydream-like way.
“Well, first of all, he's hot.” Miwa smirks and winks.
Megumi stares at Miwa, deadpanned.
Miwa isn't affected by that.
“And he's so charismatic. And clever. And, well, he's one of the two who established this company and made it come far in the business world. The company has a renowned reputation and he managed to become a billionaire. Not everyone succeeds with that when establishing a company, you know. Gojo Satoru is a handsome genius!”
“Have you ever talked to him before?”
Miwa sighs lightly, accepting defeat.
“No. Sadly, no. But I've seen him a few times.” She can't contain herself. Miwa is squealing. “... Gojo Satoru is so cool—”
Megumi has heard enough of that nonsense.
“And what is Ryoumen Sukuna like?”
Miwa's big smile drops in an instant. Miwa is looking slightly anxious now.
“Owwhhhh, uhmm, Sukuna …” Miwa scratches her head and gives her friend Mai a quick, uncertain glance. “Sukuna is, uhhh, scary. Yeah. Ryoumen Sukuna is a scary one.”
Megumi doesn't understand. This sounds like even more nonsense. Megumi raises a brow.
“Why scary?”
Miwa's expression turns sour.
“There's some kind of … dangerous aura surrounding him. He has a dangerous aura. He is nothing like Gojo Satoru.”
Saying Gojo Satoru's name again has Miwa smile dreamily again.
“Have you ever met or seen Ryoumen Sukuna in person?”
Ryoumen Sukuna being a scary one? Megumi thinks that this is bullshit. Megumi hates Gojo Satoru and Ryoumen Sukuna. He doesn't believe in one or both of them being scary.
“I haven't,” Miwa answers, “I've never seen him before. Only in newspapers or so. But I've heard what the others here say about him. Someone like Ryoumen Sukuna would never visit a department like ours or get even close to it. Us entry level employees are not worth his time. He wouldn't spare us a glance. He's pretty much a classist, I guess.”
“I saw him once. From afar,” Mai comments nonchalantly.
“What is he like?” Megumi simply repeats.
Mai points at Miwa with a thumb.
“Just like Miwa said. He has a very scary and dangerous aura. I've only seen him from afar, but still. He seems like an unapproachable person. Apparently, people can't fool or outsmart him because it won't work. If you get on the wrong side of him, it basically means your demise. Don't act overly nice around him. No bootlicking. Don't try to flatter him and don't give him compliments. None of these will work on him. He's a malevolent one.”
Well, Megumi thinks that he can work with some parts of Mai's reply.
Miwa cocks her head curiously and goes back to smiling annoyingly brightly.
“Why aren't you working?”
“I'm waiting for my supervisor.”
"Who's your supervisor?"
"Someone called Yuki Tsukumo."
At that, Mai snorts a laughter and Miwa presses her lips together to hide her grin.
Megumi gives them a questioning glance.
Mai is the first one to explain — with much amusement in her voice.
"If Yuki Tsukumo is your supervisor, that means you have no supervisor."
Miwa continues.
"Good luck with her as your supervisor, though. Yuki Tsukumo is always there when you don't need her and never there when you need her."
Great. Fucking great, Megumi's sarcasm is scornful.
Miwa and Mai notice Megumi getting irritated.
Miwa shrugs.
"Okay, fine. We'll show you the basics."
And so they do. Miwa introduces Megumi to his new workplace, his work desk, his work computer, and Mai demonstrates him some of the typical work he will have to do from now on.
Then, Megumi commences his new job as a Junior Analyst.
***
"What kind of woman is your type?"
"Excuse me?"
Megumi looks up from his work desk. A woman with with long, blond hair and two prominent side bangs has her hands on both sides of her hips as she smirks flauntingly at Megumi. The woman is wearing wine-red dress pants and a blazer with a black shirt underneath. The way she is standing there makes Megumi wonder what she is like. It wouldn't surprise him, if she turns out to be a dominatrix. If not that, she embodies a very dominant personality at the very least. And yet that woman's voice is surprisingly gentle.
Megumi spots Miwa behind the woman.
'Yuki. Yuuuuukiiiiiii,' Miwa mouths silently.
Oh.
Yuki Tsukumo. Megumi's supervisor.
Megumi looks at Yuki Tsukumo once more. The woman hasn't stopped smirking at him. Megumi shows a fake smile, yet does his best to set a polite tone. Yuki Tsukumo's question is a question Megumi doesn't want to bother with.
"Are you allowed to ask me that?"
Yuki Tsukumo clicks her tongue and shrugs her shoulders smugly.
"I do what I want. Right after his breakup, I asked Gojo Satoru who he's gonna date next."
Megumi stares. Megumi stays silent. Megumi is not sure what to do with that ridiculous piece of information.
He thinks quickly.
Since one of the CEOs was mentioned …
"And what about Ryoumen Sukuna?"
Megumi doesn't know what kind of reply he is going to get. He hopes for something that is informative.
Yuki Tsukumo groans, shaking her head lightly.
"You got me there, you little shit. Yeah, no. I'm not gonna mess with Ryoumen Sukuna. He'll rip my ass apart, if I say something wrong in front of him." Yuki Tsukumo covers one side of her mouth with a palm and winks at the end. "Not in a 'good' way, though ... if you know what I mean."
Megumi looks at her with widened eyes. Not much of Megumi's fake smile is left on his face.
Yeah …
Megumi might only be here because of his revenge and he might only care about his revenge – even when working as an employee – but Megumi does realize now ...
He definitely needs to be around some male co-workers once in a while.
"I see."
Megumi slowly turns his attention back to his work.
Yuki Tsukumo is shameless persistent.
"You didn't answer my question, kid."
"No preferences," Megumi says quickly. Megumi puts on another fake smile as he looks at his supervisor again.
"Oh?" Yuki Tsukumo checks Megumi out from top to bottom. Yuki Tsukumo smirks. "Up for anything, huh?" She clicks her tongue twice and winks.
Megumi remains silent. Yuki Tsukumo has managed to worsen Megumi's mood more than Miwa did.
Yuki Tsukumo remembers a not-so-little detail.
"Ah, right. You're the new one here, aren't ya? How was it for you so far, uh ... what's your name?"
"Megumi Fushiguro."
"How is it for you, Fushiguro?"
"Good."
"Did you grow accustomed to your new workplace?"
"Yeah. Miwa and Mai helped me out," Megumi replies. That one is true. "I'm feeling very grateful towards them." That one is a lie.
Yuki slaps Megumi's back amicably and points at herself then.
"I'll show you the rest later. Need you to get introduced to your new work by a pro after all, eh?"
With that, Yuki Tsukumo leaves.
Yuki Tsukumo does not introduce Megumi to his new work later.
Megumi kind of expected that.
***
Yuuji finishes the last hit of his joint. Yuuji exhales the dense, white smoke slowly. He smiles at Megumi and lets himself get taken over by a teasing mood. Yuuji's smile is a smirk now.
"How was your first day at work, honey?"
"They're fucking crazy," Megumi's answer comes fast, and he is pissed-off.
Megumi is forking through his Mexican rice bowl.
Yuuji flashes a playful pout as Megumi's face saunters into a glare. Megumi holds up three fingers.
"I've met three people today. Two of them are hella annoying and one of those two is my supervisor."
Yuuji laughs.
"What about the third one?"
Megumi shrugs.
"She's alright so far. Let's see for how long."
"I'm betting on tomorrow."
You're probably right. Megumi sighs and then he nudges the second Mexican rice bowl closer to Yuuji.
"Eat."
"I don't like Mexican."
Yuuji's pout isn't playful this time.
"It has meat and veggies, though. It's better, if you eat it. Will do your body good."
Megumi's habit of monitoring Yuuji's meal intakes is close to perfect. Yuuji doesn't eat much, when he's alone. The only things Yuuji likes to do is smoking weed and watching his favorite movie series.
Yuuji sighs, but slides down.
Megumi and Yuuji don't have a dining table. Megumi and Yuuji like sitting on the carpet and eating at the couch table.
Yuuji views his bowl and adds, "I won't eat this without Coke."
Megumi drops his fork onto the table loudly. His mouth has food inside, but his words are quicker.
"Are you fucking kidding me?! What the fuck, Yuuji! When did you start—"
"I'm talking about the soft drink!"
Megumi is silent and stares at Yuuji. Megumi chews and swallows the rest of his food.
"Oh."
Megumi stands up and walks to the kitchen. Megumi sighs in reliefs as he takes out two cans from the refrigerator.
Him and Yuuji dealing with drugs like weed or cocaine or crack or other stuff once in a while is one thing. But Yuuji falling into a cocaine addiction would pose major problems.
Yuuji looks amused, when he takes the offered can from Megumi's hand.
"'Gumi ..."
Megumi's seriousness is gone. Yuuji's mood is infectious. Megumi's words get mixed with low giggles.
"Damn it, don't scare me like that. I really thought you started— ..."
Megumi says no more and sits back down.
Yuuji opens his can first and raises it.
Yuuji grins carefreely.
Megumi opens his and then the two best friends clink their cans.
It's a harmless cheer.
It's a harmless dinner.
It's a harmless late evening.
Everything appears so harmless, and Megumi's revenge means stealing billions of dollars from the company, Ryoumen Sukuna and Gojo Satoru.
Megumi is going to do that.
Because that's their plan.
