Summary
Jayce Talis is a professor in training assigned to learn under Professor Viktor, the man he’s meant to replace. A transition. A simple passing of the torch. A job that was never supposed to be anything more than that.
But then Viktor laughs and Jayce wants to hear it again. Then Viktor brushes against him in the hallway and Jayce feels it for hours. Then Viktor coughs into his sleeve and Jayce notices how long it takes for him to catch his breath.
