Summary
"You know, I think you're one of the most caring people I know."
Stanley scoffs, taking another swig of whatever beer Fiddleford grabbed off the store's shelves earlier on their weekly grocery run. it burned going down but he drank enough until he could come up with an answer.
"yeah right. I don't care for no nothing."
The inventor watches Stanley intently, a man he's come to know after months of working together, his eyebrows furrowed but with a soft set to his face. "than why are you trying to rebuild the portal?"

What if Stanley found out that another person helped build that portal? What if Stanley went to seek them out but they were nothing like he expected? What if while trying to get his brother back, he gains something else in the process?
What if, while Fiddleford was the middle of a mental spiral, someone was there to help him? What if instead of the constant urge to forget everything, somthing comes into his life which makes him want to keep remembering?
