A legacy

Summary:

Ivan doesn't want to be like his dad, he doesn't want to be forgotten. So how would he be able to leave a legacy? He doesn't want to lose Andrew, his only friend. Except, bad things will happen either way, doing good deeds leads to bad things I guess.

(I'm bad at summaries, I apologize if its bad) !Discontinued!

Chapter Text

If only Ivan could stop himself from doing everything, from hurting Andrew mentally, if only he could stop himself from trying to leave a legacy.

Maybe, just maybe, all of this wouldn't have happen.

If only he could just hit himself with an axe...

"You know, don't you sometimes feel that it's a bit..gloomy in your apartment? I mean you don't even have windows." Andrew says.

"Oh..uh, well I never really thought..." Ivan stutters, not sure what to say.

"Sorry! I didn't mean it in a mean way. By the way, I have a gift for you, I thought about giving it to you later, but you can have it now."

"Oh, uh, I also have something to give, I can go grab it now from my nightstand." Ivan says.

Ivan stands up and starts walking towards his room, on his nightstand was the script. The script, would Andrew like it, would he accept Ivan to write. His thoughts are jumbled, but he decides to clear them. Its alright Ivan, no need to worry, everything is going to be fine, you won't end up like your father...hopefully, Ivan thought. He goes back to the table, to see Andrew with a...plant?

"A plant?" Ivan asks Andrew.

"Well, you know, I thought it could make your apartment a bit more cheerful.."

"Oh.."

"Um..well what about your progress?" Ivan says as an attempt to change the topic, besides he was curious.

"Oh right! Everything is going fine, I expect it to be out by Christmas, hopefully. Anyways, what was the thing you said you were to give me?" Andrew said.

Ivan gives Andrew the script.

"What's this?" He asks curiously.

"Well it's a script for your game, I thought that I could help write for your game since you're not...well"

"Since I'm not a good writer?" Andrew finishes Ivan's sentence.

"Well, I mean I don't mean i-it in a bad way, I just thought that maybe I could try help?"

"I'll take a look at it when I get back."

"Yeah, sure, as long as you at least give it a try, I'm fine with it." Ivan mutters quietly.

A few days later

"You know, you weren't wrong about my place being gloomy, the windows in your apartment really make the vibe better I guess." Ivan says.

"I-i didn't mean to say that to hurt you! Really, I was just saying my own opinion."

"Its okay Andrew, I know you, and I know that you didn't mean whatever you were trying to say" Ivan smiles softly.

"Thanks"

"So, how long do you think until dinner is ready?" Ivan asks Andrew.

"In about 20 minutes or so." Andrew responds.

"Well do you need help with it? It'll make it go faster."

"N-no its fine, I've been making it says since I was a kid."

"Oh is it like a family recipe" Ivan asks.

"Well, not really, it was from a cookbook I stole as a kid."

"What kind of kid steals a cookbook?" Ivan laughs.

"A hungry one, I guess." Andrew chuckles softly.

...

"Well would you mind getting rosemary for me? There should be something like a farm in the front."

"Sure, I'll go get it." Ivan starts walking.

When he finally finds the rosemary, he notices something on top of it, it looked rather familiar.

Ivan picked it up, only to realize that it was his script, the one he gave Andrew.

Ivan goes back to Andrew's apartment, he decided to confront him about it.

"Hey Andrew..what is this?"

"Uh, rosemary?" Andrew responds, confused. He didn't bother to look at what Ivan was talking about.

"No seriously, look."

Andrew turns around, and freezes at the sight of what Ivan was holding.

"Did you go looking through the trash or something?" He asks nervously.

"No, the wind picked it up, but why did you throw it away? You didn't bother to look at it once!?"

"S-sorry, I didn't think you would see it a-and, I didn't mean to hurt you or anything, and...." Andrew trails off, unsure of what to say.

"Its fine, I'm your friend, you think I don't know you didn't mean it. I know you Andrew, and I know that you would never try to hurt me, I can tell this was unintentional."

"Thanks, I'm lucky to have you." Andrew says.

"But really, why did you throw it away?" Ivan asks.

"Well, I honestly don't really need your help, you already help me by being here, by being my friend. I don't need you to write, I'm not forcing you to, you know?"

"I don't feel like I'm being forced Andrew, I want to help you with the game. But thanks, I guess, I'm glad you're my friend too." Ivan smiles.

"I'm really sorry, it's just that I might have to move out. I'm financially tight and I don't think I can pay for the rent."

"You're going to..move out?"

"I might have to."

"Hey, can you cut the vegetables over there?" Andrew asks Ivan, changing the topic.

"Yeah, sure, I'll do it."

Scene 5 (or storm)

Seems like there's as storm coming up, I better prepare the barn for it.

??? walks towards the farm, they fix the outlet and fix the holes that used to be there. I better get home now, they thought. Seems like the storm just about to come. They walk back towards their house and get in bed. In front of them they can see a black shadow coming closer.

Closer.

It becomes more visible, suddenly, the sound of lighting can be heard.

Ivan opens the door to see Andrew standing there with one of his moving boxes.

"Thank you so much Ivan, really, I can't tell you how grateful I am to have you."

"No problem, do you still have more though?"

"Yeah I have a couple more, I know you told me to pack lightly, sorry."

"Its fine."

Ivan closes the door and looks at Andrew's stuff. Seems like one of his old trophies are still there. Ivan remembers how bad Andrew wanted to have the best game. It was disappointing when he didn't, definitely not the best memory for sure.

Knock, knock.

Ivan goes to open the door.

"Thank you really, for letting me stay at your apartment."

"You don't need to thank me any more, besides, what was I supposed to do? I would've been a pretty bad friend just seeing you talk about your struggles and not offer anything. i didn't want to see you like that."

"Yeah, I guess thats true" Andrew says.

"Anyways, is this your last one or do you still have more?"

"I have one more, sorry about that."

"Its fine really." Ivan assures him.

Andrew goes to get his last box.

Andrew never really listens, Ivan thought. I remember one time I was knocking on his door for such a long time until he finally opened the door.

Andrew comes back and knocks on the door.

Ivan goes to open the door.

"By the way, do you want to go to the rooftop, there's a pretty nice view there." Ivan asks Andrew

"Yeah sure, I'll meet you there."

Ivan gets drinks for both of them while Andrew goes up to the roof top.

Roof top access, it says on the door.

Ivan pushes the door and climbs the stair, when reaches the rooftop, he opens the door to see Andrew already waiting for him there, sitting.

He goes to the vacant chair next to Andrew, and places the colas onto the table.

"The view here is pretty good, better than what I expected, especially since its in the middle of the city, you know?" Andrew says, breaking the silence.

"Yeah, I told you the view was pretty nice, you know?" Ivan responds

"yeah...."

"Well, um, progress?" Ivans asks

"Its been good so far, hopefully I'll be able to finish and release it soon."

"Oh..so how are things with your parents?"

"Neutral, I guess, I haven't been in contact with them."

....

"You know, I never heard you talk about your parents, while I whine about mine you've never really mentioned them." Andrew states.

"Well, my parents are just normal, I guess."

"..."

"..."

"Have you ever seen a dead body Andrew?"
