Chapter Text

Princess Skyla dreams a lot, always has ever since her childhood. Dreams big and small alike. She always dreamt about finding love, just like they do in fairytales. When she met princess Ekterina for the first time her heart was beating like it never has before. She wasn't sure if it was from the fact it was her first friendly conversation outside with a stranger, or something deeper than that.

She has realized a while ago that the Russian woman is different from others, isn't afraid to stand up for both herself and Princess Skyla. Isn't afraid to shout despite her royal title, yet somehow makes it seem equally as elegant as talking.

Princess Ekterina was ethereal, a beauty beyond common people. A beauty that stood with loud elegance and a charming personality. It made Princess Skyla burn with something she couldn't quite place, cheeks carying a pink glaze that wasn't hard to miss.

Princess Skyla didn't understand the things she was feeling. It felt raw, real. Tingling in her stomach when the Russian giggled.

Princess Skyla always wanted a prince for herself, just like princesses in fairytales do. But here she finds herself, stomach fluttering at anything the woman said, a smile always finding its way onto both of their faces.

The Russian woman taught her about Europe, from facts about countries to yearning for her home country. Speaking about Russia in such a dreamy yet sad way. Princess Skyla wasn't surprised, she also missed Missisipi, even if the state was like a golden cage for someone her title.

She didn't know when she fell asleep, she remembers waking up in pain after laying in bed and everything after that was hazy. Blurs of lights and a familiar rose perfume buried in her nose.

Princess Skyla only saw darkness when she looked around. An eternal pitch black void, far too empty for her liking. It made her feel claustrophobic, like a mouse trapped in a mousetrap. She felt incredibly cold, fingers stiff and body shaking. Yet she was burning up, a small beam of flames sneaking up her insides and burning everything in its path.

When she tried to blink away the burn. She found herself feeling lighter, as if floating. When she opened her eyes again she was in a flower field. Sitting in a small patch of grass amongst bundles of daisies. Not a cloud in the sky as the sun shined its brightest. It was nostalgic in a way, it reminded her of the flower field behind her family's estate, the one her momma used to bring her to teach her how to weave flower crowns.

She missed her momma.. She missed everyone back in Missisipi. Will she even see them again?.. What would be their reaction to hear that their beloved Princess Skyla was stuck in a time loop. They probably wouldn't believe it, its childish to even think time loops exist, its something straight out of children's literature.

Yet she was in one. Not so childish now, was it?

She almost chuckled at the thought. Her eyes glossy with unshed tears and all the silent regrets. She promised her momma that she'd send letters from Europe. Will she still be waiting for them?

She felt a presence sitting down next to her. She turned quickly, it was out of place for a meadow this calm and lonely.

It was a woman, a beautiful one. With long brown hair cascading down her back like the most gorgeous waterfall there was, roses and gold braided into it. She had vines running down her arms and her eyes were closed. She was dressed in flowing white robes, roses decorating it as well.. There was a faint golden glow surrounding her, barely noticeable in the direct sunlight.

Princess Skyla was staring, gawking even. The woman's head was tilted up, as if soaking in the rays of the sun.

As if the woman felt the staring, she turned her head down to the blonde "Oh princess.. do you not like it here?" A gentle voice echoed.

She opened her eyes for the first time. They were a chilling white, yet they were filled with concern. One that sent shivers down Princess Skyla's spine. She was still shocked that somebody was here with her. "Who.. What are you?" The blondes voice was aching.

"I'm Hannah, What I am is not for you to know" the woman said with a chuckle. Princess Skyla was fixated on her eyes, they were unlike anything she has seen before.

"Do not be scared, I'm helping you.. You want to get back, don't you?" She said, turning away from Princess Skyla as she turned her head back up to the sky. "It's foolish, no one deserves a fate like you. Yet something is telling me you would choose to go back to the train despite the decision."

Princess Skyla can't find words to let out. Who was this woman? And what.. What was this?

"But everyone deserves to make their own choices. Tell me Princess.. If you could stay here, in peace for an eternity, but leave her behind forever, would you?"

Her? Princess Ekterina.. The blonde looks at her with wide eyes "what..? I-.." Would she? should she? To leave her lover with the thought that Princess Skyla welcomed death.

"I.. I couldn't possibly. I have to get her out with me.." She said. Love was a foolish thing, yet the brunette woman smiled peacefully, she was expecting this after all.

"I had a feeling you'd say that.. She's worried sick, you should get back to her." The brunette said as she turned back to Princess Skyla. "You have my blessing, please get back safely."

She smiled at Princess Skyla as she took the blondes hand to her mouth, planting a small kiss on the top of it, warmth spread thru Princess Skyla in an instant.

When she blinked again, she was back in the darkness. Except there was a light in the distance, one that wasn't there when she looked around the first time she opened her eyes in the unfamiliar void. She felt herself reach towards it and she felt a million eyes on her.

Her hand touched it and next thing she felt was horrible pain shooting up her side, making her pained yelp echo in the unfamiliar place. She stumbled in place. Knees buckling onto the floor

It was getting too much, and before she knows it she's on the ground entirely, head resting in the cold of the void.

Princess Skyla could see the white ceiling above her.

She whimpered loudly at the sudden light, turning her face to the side as spikes shot up her head.

She heard faint shuffling and a familiar voice in the background. It was all too much for her.

Princess Skyla was slipping in and out of consciousness ever since she first went limp in the Russian's lap. Heartbeat quiet and slow, yet not stopping, breathing sounded more quiet gasping. Ekterina's beloved Princess Skyla was holding on to life, albeit weakly.

Quite a few hours, maybe even a few days passed ever since the poison incident. All Ekterina knows is that Princess Skyla is sleeping. She looked gorgeous yet still very sickly.. It was tragic to see the usually sunkissed woman so pale. Yet she still kept her beauty despite it all, One that the russian woman admired. She hasn't left Princess Skyla's room ever since they placed her here. Replacing the cold towels hourly and talking with her, despite the unconsciousness of the blonde.

Her fever dropped just an hour ago after all that time spent pressing cold rags to her forehead. The relief she felt was beyond anything she felt before. The Russian woman sat on the blonde's bed, rubbing her warm hand as she talked in her thick Russian accent to the unconscious woman. She talked about anything that could take her mind off the situation. From some german shepherd puppies she saw back at the train station to extravagant gowns and dresses she had back at her palace.

She knew the blonde couldn't hear her, but she doesnt want to think about the reason why.

She let go of her hand for the first time since her fever broke to go grab a cup of water for herself. She never spent more than 10 minutes outside of the infirmary. Even sleeping there in case Princess Skyla wakes up. It was different from her palace champers, it was uncomfortable, but theres nothing more comfortable than knowing her dear would see her when she woke up.

She was using one of the spare glasses from the drink area. She brought it here so she wouldn't have to go out for water... Surely her Princess will wake up soon. The doctor said it shouldn't take too long, so why wasn't she waking up yet?

You'd think the princess life taught Princess Ekterina patience, quite the opposite. She just wanted the blonde to wake up and look at her. She wanted to see those gorgeous caramel brown eyes again, appreciate every fleck of gold mixed in them. She wants to see her soft-lipped smiles, the little giggles she let out at every joke Princess Ekterina slipped out, even the way her lipstick smudges after a little too much alcohol.

You never really realize how much you appreciate someone until they're gone.

But Princess Skyla isn't gone, she's just unconscious.. She'll wake up soon, the doctor said so.

The thing that got her out of her mind was a pained whimper echoing thru the white room.

The glass slipped from her hands, she ran over to her dear and fell on her knees infront of her bed. Taking Princess Skyla's hand and pressing it againsts her cheek. "Solnyshko.. Please dont do this to me"

She sees the gorgeous brown eyes fluttering open with pain on her face. The blonde turned her head towards the Russian weakly. "Ekterina.. Y-you're here.." She smiled lowly.

"Ofcourse I am.. I promised, didn't I?" She said, pressing a kiss to the hand on her cheek. She was smiling, awfully widely at that. Her love survived something most wouldn't...

The blonde giggled with a pained cough "I love you Ekterina..." She said before barely sitting up, the brunette having to rise up and help her sit.

"I love you too.. Please rest, you did more than enough already" the Russian said. Sitting on top of the bed Princess Skyla was resting in. Letting go of her hand in favor of holding her cheek, rubbing under her eye carefully.

The blonde chuckled again as she leaned forward, only to get stopped by the woman. The brunette raising an eyebrow before she leaned forward. She just told Princess Skyla to not move around that much after all..

Dry lips met chapped ones, it was short yet sweet. One of Princess Ekterina's hands on the blonde's cheek and the other on her waist. It was an uncomfortable position, yet it was perfect.

Later, they will find Princess Ekterina asleep on the bed halfway on top of Princess Skyla. Cuddling with carefulness. The blonde's hand resting in the brunette's hair. A barely visible rose symbol on her wrist, blending into the skin.

A goddess was looking over them with content.

Notes:

Also tiny detail you might have missed! Princess Skyla calls her Princess Ekterina and only in the feverish haze did she loose the title.

A small headcanon of mine! Princess Skyla can't pronounce Ekterina's full name. And she has trouble even with her first name, so Princess Skyla more often than not mispronounces her name by accident, the Russian has grown quite fond of it and encourages her to say her name, even if wrong.

CH2!!

Solnyshko = little sun, its a Russian petname!!

I unfortunately, am not Russian, i got nerfed by a Slavic nationality yet not the most populated one

Booo tomato tomato I know
