Chapter 1: Cruel Beginnings

Chapter Text

Mane was gone. Nothing was left to remember him by, and he wasn’t even dead, just gone. The treehouse was burnt to a crisp by Clown. All banners disappeared except for the one Wemmbu had on him. Wemmbu held the item that broke them apart in his hand, his mace Gambit.

Looking up at the charred remains of the tree brings a slight tear to his eye. Mane was the closest thing Wemmbu had as someone to look up to. Mane was the person who taught Wemmbu who he really wanted to be, someone powerful. Yes, Wemmbu craved power, the thing he didn’t have.

“So… what do we do now?” Egg asked Wemmbu while staring at the still burning leaves on the tree.

“I have no idea,” Wemmbu answered truthfully, “We need to get revenge on Clown, but Clown is way too powerful right now. We can figure it out later.” Power, he needed power. Power to defeat Clown. Power to find Mane. Power to protect Egg and himself.

The two sat on top of a not burning tree off to the side and simply stared at the massive burning tree in the center. They watched the tree until all of its flames were naturally extinguished and nothing was left. But even after, they kept watching. A heavy silence was in the air. A silence that used to vanish quickly ever since they started training with Mane. Now the silence lasts for extended periods without an end in sight. Unless, someone else breaks it for them.

“Well, isn’t this something? I thought you were stronger?” A voice emerged from behind the two. Wemmbu and Egg quickly turned around to see the person. He was wearing a regal purple outfit. His hair was dark and curly. One of his eyes was hidden with, a glitch effect? This was no ordinary person, it was Ash, leader of the Invisible Mafia. The same Mafia that took everything from him. He was accompanied by two invisible players. One player had a diamond trim while the other had a gold trim.

“Ashswag. What are you doing here? I don’t want to deal with you now.” Wemmbu could feel the fear crawling up his back. Ashswag was not a player to be messed with. He had what Wemmbu wanted desperately, power. This lust for power turned into envy for people who had what he wanted most.

“What’s with the harsh tone? Don’t talk to me like that, it’s pretty rude.” Ash chuckled, clasping his hands behind his back. The invisible players next to him saw this action and immediately took their swords out.

“Omg…. we are actually in Ashswags presence right now..” Egg whispered to Wemmbu, “This is hella aura.”Egg was actually shaking a bit and looking directly at Ashswag, though, he couldn’t stare directly into his eyes. What if he took that as some offense and killed both of them?

“Listen Wemmbu. I have something for you. Call it an offer or threat if you want but heed my words.” Wemmbu just wanted this encounter over, maybe he could sulk more if he just did as he said, but doing that made Wemmbu feel so weak. Despite the feelings rising in his chest, he stood up and faced Ash.

“Join the Invis Mafia. We could use your talents for something better than moping around a charred tree.” Ash offered, extending out one of his hands to meet Wemmbu’s.

“No. I’m not joining with the people who just took away what I care about. You’ve taken everything from me and you really cannot threaten me with anything to join.” Wemmbu answered, slapping away Ash’s hand. With that action, the two invisible guards inched closer to Wemmbu.

“Relax guards. I really didn’t want to do this but final offer, Wemmbu.” Ash pulled out a fishing rod and started to speak.

“With the wave of my hand, I mobilize hundreds of people to find your exact location.” He mockingly took his other hand and waved it.

“With the flick of my fingers, I mobilize another hundred to hunt you down and attack you until you’re dead.” He flicked his fingers then stared at Wemmbu.

“Finally, with a cast of a fishing rod, I take what is most precious to people.”

Just then, Egg disappeared.

And Wemmbu knew he had no choice but to accept.

“Power is what you seek. Power is what I have. I can share, all you have to do is dawn the invisibility and join me. If you join, maybe you’ll get your friend back.”Ash put his fishing rod away and extended his hand once again.

This time, Wemmbu took it.

———-

Parrot flew and flew until he landed near Mane’s tree. He didn’t know the story of what happened here. That was the unspoken agreement of Unstable, passing relics of wars you’ve never seen go down and only knowing what happened by the leftover ruins.

“Where could he have gone..” Parrot mumbled, looking around the surrounding terrain until he saw a sign on the ground.

Parrot picked up the sign and read it. The sign had, “lost cause” engraved onto it. It was clear someone who saw this sign hated it. The words were barely legible. They were scratched into oblivion and were burned with flames.

“What happened here?” Parrot couldn’t help but saying. Something clearly happened but he just didn’t know what. Parrot put down the sign and continued to search the area. Until he found another sign.

This sign was on top of a small tree that surrounded the big tree. This sign was as clear as day. And it was very clear who wrote it.

“Too late Parrot.”

Parrot was too late. Wemmbu was already taken by the Invisible Mafia and Ash purposefully left that sign to make Parrot go even more crazy than he already was.

And there was nothing he could do.
