December 1st 10:30am.
Ada waited for a text hoping that he’d actually text her, maybe give her a second chance or maybe him and Claire are actually dating then god she looked so stupid with that letter practically begging him to call or text her. She sounded so weak,Ada hated sounding weak especially when she tried to stay strong for such a long time. When her and her mother immigrate to America from china it didn’t make their life any better, they were still dirt poor and her mom was working multiple jobs so they can stay afloat but it wasn’t enough so she started stealing and getting into fights. Granted she was a child she wasn’t as Wesker called her “cold and calculated”.
Enough of the horrible thoughts if Leon wasn’t gonna be a part of her life then fine, fighting over a man that’s taken is weird and very displeasing as much as it breaks her heart seeing him with someone else but as long as Leon’s happy all she can be is happy for him…So why not distract herself with work and looking at new furniture for her apartment. An apartment finally in her name. Her real name.
Ada filled her day with meetings and clients then new employees, like this former umbrella employee Carlos Olivera. He’s perfect for the muscle part of her operation plus he an ex mercenary, she doesn’t know how he got out of it but that doesn’t matter he was good company plus all he can talk about is his girlfriend of six years with their dog milo. I’m happy for him..right?
December 1st 9:30pm
Carlos and Ada got dinner together, mostly because his girlfriend canceled on him but they wanted to go over more applications and honestly Ada was still new to the area so she wanted a good noodle spot, so the went out to eat and planned everything to every little detail. The tap of his chop sticks catch her attention away from the paper in front of her “So Miss Wong, you waiting for an important call or something?” He asked while nodding at her phone, “Ada is perfectly fine Carlos also I’m just waiting to hear about my furniture coming in that’s all.” She plasters on her fake smile the cleans off her mouth gently “If you want me and my girlfriend couple help you out with your furniture, Jill needs more friends outside her work place plus I need friends in genera.I know you’re alone in the city too maybe you need a friend too?” He smiles, she can tell that he’s being sincere about the offer too
A familiar ring tone starts going off and it wasn’t Carlos’s, she takes a quick look at her phone. It’s Leon. Ada clears her throat then mutters out a quick “excuse me” then walk outside the restaurant, butterflies fill her stomach after the third ring then she finally answered. “Hello?” Ada couldn’t hide the excitement in her voice, God she was pathetic.
“Hey, I’m sorry I’m calling this late. It was a me and sherry day then I went out with friends but where are you?”
Ada was relived that he wasn’t just ignoring her because he hated her or didn’t want to speak to her but something in his voice was throwing her off, it was like he was angry. Maybe he was angry at something that happened earlier, maybe a little teasing would cheer him up. “It’s fine Leon, life gets busy but I’m out with a co-worker for dinner.” She lets a smirk crawl across her face “Why? Do you wanna come swoop me off my feet and save me from the boring conversation about work and dogs.” Her voice playfully teased.
She heard a huff of laughter from his end of the line but his voice still sounded upset when he answered her question “Yeah…Yeah I do wanna come get you stay where you are..Okay? She heard muffled voice behind him begging him not to leave the voices sounded familiar to her but before she could give him her location Leon hung up on her. Rude. Ada’s attention was drawn back to the front door of the restaurant, it was Carlos he had her stuff and paid for dinner she assumed “I paid don’t worry dinning and dashing ain’t my style plus my girlfriend is on her way.” He chuckled while giving Ada her stuff back “I’m sorry next dinner is on me” she says while taking her stuff back.
Carlos shook his head “You’ve done enough for me Ada especially with my Umbrella background nobody important would hire me with that, but you gave me an actual chance.” He pause for a moment and looks her straight in the eye “Thank you Ada.” Before she could reply his girlfriend comes barreling into him with a hug “SWARLOSSSSS!” her words are slurred. Definitely drunk. Carlos gives her a tight hug back then a soft kiss on the cheek, they seem to forget that she’s right there like completely but that doesn’t matter when she feels a strong hand wrap around her waist pulling her close to someone’s chest.
The alarm in her brain doesn’t go off because she recognize that cologne from anywhere. Leon Kennedy. Ada looks up at Leon and smiles gently “Hey..”, he pulls her into a hug placing his head gently in her neck. Ada wraps her arms around his neck and holds him tightly, two hugs in two days feels so amazing but god was he always this tall. “I thought you were spending time with friends.” She snickered but all she got was a soft grunt from him, “Come on grumpy pant’s lets get you home before Sherry get worried.” Ada huffs. Before they could leave Carlos introduces her to his girlfriend Jill Valentine. Ironically her and Leon run in the same friend group that’s why they came at the same time. With that off they went to Leon’s place
December 1st 10pm.
Ada drove them home, they made small talk and laughed. It was nice it felt domestic when they get to his apartment Leon walked in first using his body to block her own from sherry’s view. It was simple question about how was his night and simple small talk then sending Sherry to bed early. “I’m sorry for hiding you.” his voice was hush even though his forehead was against her’s, eyes completely staring into hers. “Sherry’s never seen me bring a girl home and I want you two to meet a more proper way..” His voice still hushed and hands tighter on her waist “Sherry’s had so many people in her life leave her and I’m scared you’ll leave again.” Ouch that stung. “Leon, I understand but I told you I’m staying as long as you’ll let me.” Her voice was just as hushed as his.
She can tell Leon is searching her face seeing if she’s lying, “I know beautiful, let me just do this right with you. Dates. First Kisses.” His hand cups her face. All she can do is laugh a little “We’ve already kissed before in the cable car up to the NEST lab.” God her body is on fire, he makes my mind go crazy. Wait was he jealous earlier?. “Hun… how did you find me earlier?” Her hands clench his leather jacket. Leon smirks, god that smirk looks so good on him… “When I was on the way to the bar and I walked passed the restaurant, seeing you laugh with him…messes with my head.” he huffs, “Mr Kennedy I thought stalking and jealousy was my thing.” Her lips curve with that sentence, but confusion fills Leons face. “ What do you have to be jealous for beautiful?” He pleaded.
Ada shifted her eye’s to the ground, “I thought you and Claire were a thing, I see the way she looks at you Leon. When you didn’t answer the letter I thought…” she pauses, she can hear mother yelling at her in Chinese to stop crying and stop being so weak. “Hey…Beautiful nothing is going on with me and Claire, she’s tried to but I just couldn’t not before Spain and not tonight.” Guilt. That’s all she heard out of his voice, “Tonight?Leon tell me what’s going on…” she pleaded, his breathe is shaky “We kissed again tonight-” Ada tires to pull her body away from him. God her heart is breaking and they weren’t even together. “Hey.. hey please let me explain please beautiful?” Hushed panic filled his voice.
Her eyes became glassy and her eyes started to water, “You just said not that long ago that nothing was going on with her, Leon. Then in the same breath you decide to tell me that you two kissed?!” She hissed at him. “I know, I know…Baby please let me explain.” Now he’s pleading with her. “Explain what? That you left me practically waiting for you to text me or even a god damn call. Just for you to show up jealous that I’m with a coworker who’s dating your friend then tell me you want to do everything right with me...” She sniffles a bit “So you can tell me you kissed the girl you told me not to worry about…”.
Leon lets her go to rub his face “Ada, please let me explain.” His voice now cracking, all she could do was nod. There was no pet name’s just a simple serious plea. “During the 6 years you were gone when I thought you were dead, I was a reck and super busy…” he’s thinking choosing his next words carefully “I-I know I watched you those six years.” She mumbled. A shocked look came across his face but decided to finish his story. “A few days before Spain my friends threw me a going away party to make me feel better about the situation I was going into. Chris, Rebecca, and Jill left first then me and Claire were left alone. She kissed me and I didn’t kiss back, I told her I wasn’t ready and she said she’d wait for me…” he took her hand gently “Tonight, I was gonna call you after the bar no matter what happened. Even if I didn’t see you in that restaurant or not..”
Ada allows him to come closer, she just wants his warmth near her even if he just made her cry. “She kissed me again tonight but I pushed her away and told her that Ive fallen in love with someone else and I left to go find you that’s when I called you, I don’t want to move on from us and I don’t want you to move on from us.” His arms wrapped around her waist not possessively but relaxed. Ada nods “I believe you and I-I’m sorry I got so worked up over something, and we aren’t even together.” Leon shook his head “No beautiful it means you care and I’m sorry I made you cry.” He kisses her eye lids, “I don’t want to move on from us either Leon…” she murmurs.
He nods and picks her up bridal style “That’s why we are going to try and go forward from this…Okay?” He stated. All she could do is nod and let Leon get clothes out for them… “I don’t really like to sleep with pants on…” she murmured “Okay, I don’t like sleeping with a shirt on” he huffed. They shower and get changed by the time they’re done it’s 2am. That night they fall asleep in each other’s arms, it’s peaceful and quiet. Now nothing is gonna be left unsaid between them.
