" Andrealphus smiles and takes a step back from him. As icy as his presence is, Stolas cannot help but miss it when he retreats.
He calls across the room to his sister, then addresses Stolas again. “Do let me know if you need anything. I fear I shall be burdened with, ah, showing you the ropes, as it were. I do hope you prove to be a quick study.”
Finally, something inside Stolas feels sated. Andrealphus is generous enough to give him a chance. This bitterly cold estate is not one he must navigate alone.
