Chapter Text
As Peter's alarm clock rings he had only laid down on his comfortable, warm bed. His body still stuck in the sweaty and tight spandex, littered with rips and his own blood. Groaning he pounced his fist onto the annoying piece of technology, smashing it to small unidentifiable bits. he got up and rolled out his aching shoulders, letting his fingers and neck crack loudly.
Sometimes he just wanted to throw that damn suit into the trash and leave the citizens of New York to their fate. But he had the responsibility to help people with his powers. He jumped under the shower after peeling the suit of off his skin. As the lukewarm water hit his greasy hair and the cold skin of his face he hummed in contentment. Then the water traveled further down, over cuts and bruises. Now the contentment skipped right to a painfull awareness of his almost healed wound
"Peter! Come on down, breakfast is ready. And your friends are here to pick you up." Aunt May's voice came from behind his bedroom door. She sounded happy and fully relaxed. Peter sighed, "Yeah, almost done, Aunt May." he yelled back over the running water, cutting his shower short. Only washing his hair and getting dressed rather hast
As he stumbled down the stairs, his backpack slung over his left shoulder and trying to get his right foot into his shoe, he heard laughter and conversations. Peter really wanted to know what his team was doing here. "Finally." he whisper-cheered as he finally got his second shoe on and walked to the kitchen wirh a yawn. "Good morning, guys." he greeted and leaned himself fully against the wall. His arms crossed infront of his chest, another yawn left his lips and he had trouble keeping his eyes open and not to yelp from the pain in his s
"Oh my gosh, Peter! You don't look so good. Did you get sick again?" his Aunt asked him, concern written all over her face, the laughter whipped of her lips and out of her voice. In the matter of a few seconds she had her palm on his forehead, which he pulled away and gave her a reassuring smile. "I'm fine, Aunt May. I just couldn't sleep." he explained. Hesitatinly she stepped back and looked him over once again, but nodded.
"Now, out with all of you. Don't want to be late today, right?" Aunt May teased them, as she shoohed them out of the kitchen and too the door. "See you later, Aunt May." they chorused as she closed the door behind them. simultaneously all the eyes went to him and looked him over again, checking for injuries he may have hidden.
"Man, you look like death warmed over. Are you really alright, Pete?" Luke asked, his scared but gentle hand heavy on his shoulder. another sigh escaped Peters lips as he nodded. "Just a rough partol, but nothing i can't handle." he mumbled, not even registering he said that. but he did notice the worried glance the others gave eachother over his shoulder. "Really, i am fine, guys." he made sure they didn't see the eyeroll he added after the sentence.
"If your sure." Sam just said quietly, before the five of them walk to school in a rather uncomfortable silence, but Peter didn't care in this moment. he was just glad that nobody tried to rope him into a conversation where he would just snap at the poor person. and he was glad for the so so silence in the city that never sleeps, for the headache he feels forming behinf his eyes and skull.

"Man, you look even shittier than two hours ago. Pete, please, go home." Ava tried to tell him, but he didnt want to hear it. he just wanted to be left alone right now. "I am fine, Ava. Please just drop it." he told her, trying to hold the annoyance out of his tone, which he gradually failed, judging Avas expression souring. "We just care about you, you dumbass." she sneered at him, now too being rightfully pissed, just as Danny, Luke and probably Sam.
"Peter Parker to the directors office, please." echoed through the classroom and everybody jsut had to stare at him. 'Great,' he thought and got up from his seat with a groan, shouldered his back pack and hurriedly walked out of Mr. Harringtons boring calculus class and out into the empty hallways. At least here he was safe from Flash, since he currently sat in the class he jsut left. a small smile of victory stole itself on his lips but shattered as soon as he sa Sam Alexander stalking up and down in front of Coulsens office door, obviously waiting for him.
As soon as he heared footsteps approaching his location, his gaze snapped up and the mumbling stopped. Instead he stumbled over his words as he spoke up. "I'm sorry Peter but i couldn't let you be so dumb and go to school and training while you look like that. You see, we're friends, at least i like to think that, and friends kinda care about eachother and i just couldn't let you hurt yourself more by going to scool and training later on. I mean, we all noticed that you didn't really sleep the last few nights and we were just worried, you know?" Sam explaines, but begins chewig on his nails as Peter lifted his right hand to stop Sam from his ramblings. he pinched the bridge od his nose with his left hand while screwing his eyes shut in frustration.
Of course he understood the worry his team had for him, he is not that different when hes 'mother-henning' the other members, but the one time the roles are reversed he can't take all the worry and coddling thrown his way. "Yeah, yeah, Sam i get it. Don't get all worked up about it." he grumbled, gesturing with his right hand for Sam to open that damned office door. Hesitatinly the shorter boy let the lock click open, both walked into the chilly room of director Coulsen, getting greeted with a warm smile and amused eyes.
"Peter, i called you here to let you know that you are under house arrest until further notice. You shouldn't neglect yourself to be able to fit everything in one da, as your teammates so carefully hinted me too. we're all very worried for you, Pete." the older Agent told him, as soon as Sam closed the door behind them. Peter eyed them both with a bit of hostility in his eyes, noticing the anger swelling in his chest. But he beat it down as good as he could before he opend his mouth to speak. "And what will you do? Lock me in my own house? in the S.H.I.E.L.D tricarrier? You can't just lock Spider-Man away." he said, the angry snark still audible in his voice.
Sams eyes widened at his words, he never heard Peter getting really angry or yelling at sombody, and quite frankly he didnt want to experience it. Coulsens lips heaved a heavy sigh, "That's the problem, Peter. You've been Spider-Man more often than Peter Parker those last few months that you see yourself only as Spider-Man not Peter Parker, a teenager with school problems, friends and a healthy sleep schedule. You need some time for yourself kid."
Sam watched as Peter and Coulsen stared at each other, daring the other to lash out, to yell. Neiher of those things happened, as Peter just rolled his eyes into his head as he moaned out a dragged 'fiiiiiiinnnneeeeee'.
"Come on, Pete. Let's get you home." Sam whispered as he pulled him out of the room by his sweater sleeve. The taller boy just sighed again, the probably fifth time today, as he let it happen. They walked through the empty hallways, neither saying a word, just enjoying each others company. One of them really enjoying it and the other boy just being to tired to say somthing witty or sarcastic, with Sams hand still on his elbow.
Soon they were at their lockers, pulling out their jackets and wool hats, they both got from Aunt May, Sam as a goodbye present and Peters was a bit older, a christmas present from years ago. Sam slammed his locker close, so they could countinue walking down the hall, taking a bit longer as Peter to get ready, as usually. Still they walked in silence, not knowing what they could be talking about. Until they got outside, in the cool October morning air, and Peters stab wound started to flare up again. Protesting the sudden change of temperature with aching and bleeding. He noticed the blood running down his hip in small rivulets.
"Sam, wait a second." Peter gasped with swelling pain. Black dots danced in front of his eyes, his vision swimming as he saw that the other boy continued walking forward, not glancing back. The pain consuming whole, from his neck to his side, making him go slack, stumbling forward. Already feeling himself hitting the bottom of the stairs as he suddenly got jerked upwards. Cold metal was pressed to his wound, back and stomach. He screamed, or at least he tried to, since all he heard was a cracked, hoarse moan. The last thing he belived he heard, before the world went was sunk in darkness, was Sams panicked voice yelling for him.
