Work Text:
Jack knew he wanted to marry Samira a month after they started dating.
Hell, he had known after that first facetime call and maybe even before that. She had caught his attention the moment he laid eyes on her.
He went to bed with a smile on his face that night and every night since they started getting to know each other.
He fell in love with her again and again in the following months. He watched her grow and choose herself. Even when she made the decision to leave PTMC he was grateful to have known her, to have had the privilege of loving her body.
He had tried to keep his feelings to himself, he knew what it could look like. The implications of him pursuing her. So he admired her from afar, content to be her friend and mentor.
But he had been more than grateful that it all came to a head when she had forgotten to hang up on him and he got to see her cum for him for the first time.
After that it had become impossible to stay away, he was head over heels. She became a fixture in his life, she became his favorite person, even when she was too stubborn to let him care for her too obviously; even that he loved about her.
He missed her everyday she was gone, especially on days where life got in the way. But he loved driving up to see her at every opportunity.
After a year of doing long distance came, Jack didn’t want to live away from her anymore. Couldn’t bear it. So when she was offered a permanent position in Boston, Jack sold his house and followed her there. It had been one of the easiest decisions he had made.
She had been shocked and told him he was crazy but he only smiled, kissed her and told her he was crazy for her.
“I’ve been away from you for a year Samira. Your new life is here and I want to be with you. This was an easy decision. Pittsburgh is only a short flight away if I ever miss it.”
“What about the Pitt?”
“They can survive without me, but I don’t want to survive without you.”
They had been living together for a while now, Jack had settled into Boston and even had an Army buddy get him a job at an emergency room in a hospital over from Samira's.
He worked a limited schedule to be able to spend time with her, volunteering to keep himself busy.
He had joked that being a house husband suited him.
*********
It had been weeks since he bought the ring. Longer still since he knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. The ring was a simple pearl and diamond band, a vintage piece that had caught his attention on a trip they had taken to the farmer's market. She had admired it and he had snuck back into the shop to buy it when she had been distracted picking out a candle.
He knew she wouldn't want a grand spectacle. They had a quiet love, a love that was full of comfortable silences and inside jokes. His girl was not a big public engagement kind of gal that much he knew, so he had to be strategic.
So when they planned their vacation, Jack knew to bring the ring along.
He booked them a cabin up in the snowy mountains. He wanted to be away from the chaos of the world and it just be them, no hospitals or meddling friends.
He, of course made sure they had wifi; he was a recluse but he was also a paranoid man who took precautions. He made sure they had electricity, running hot water, and wifi.
Samira had half protested at leaving work for more than their usual mandated days off but when he mentioned a cabin with a hot tub, she readily agreed.
Jack loved Samira's reaction when they pulled into the cabin's driveway. He had picked it out for being practical: heating, a giant bed and the added benefit of looking like a giant tree house. Thankfully it had an accessibility ramp that made it perfect for their get away.
Once inside, Jack made sure to put the food they brought into the fridge and got started on dinner. Samira ran straight to the shower, wanting to wash away the travel and the hospital, since she had worked a shift before. He could hear the shower running and the echo of her singing.
It was something he had discovered after they had moved in together. When she was happy and relaxed she liked to pop in her music and have a karaoke session. It made him smile like it had the first time he heard her.
Jack never told her he could hear her singing but he lived for those moments, for the way she seemed to relax around him without trying. He felt honored that she let herself get taken care of when things felt hard.
But too soon the water stopped and he heard the blow dryer start. The music and her singing became a muted buzz.
Dinner was ready by the time she came out. She was in a pair of leggings with a crewneck sweater that he was sure was his, and her curls were a big, beautiful halo around her.
She looked like an angel. His salvation.
Jack always counted himself lucky that she had decided she loved him too. That she had thought him worthy of her love. He woke up grateful everyday to have her and to be able to love her.
“Smells so good,” she came up behind him, wrapping her arms around him, dropping a kiss on his neck as she looked at the pasta he whipped together.
Her kiss left his skin tingling. He couldn’t help but hold her hand against him. He breathed a content sigh as he felt her mold into his back. There were few things better than this domesticity.
It's after sunset when they sat on the couch with their food. Samira was curled up into him, feeding him bits of garlic bread while he did the same to her with the pasta. Each stating the other needed to eat more.
The movie they put on becomes background noise as Jack settles into the happiness he feels.
Samira's warmth and the smell of her settle into his bones.
She falls asleep soon after they finish dinner. She slips into unconsciousness from one breath to another. He kisses the crown of her head and carries her to bed.
He knew his girl was tired, she had worked extra shifts to make up for a colleague that had taken emergency leave and when the hospital had a hard time finding coverage, so of course she’d volunteered. She would never say no. Saving lives was her purpose.
He was just happy she had not cancelled their getaway. Not that he would have blamed her. He would have done everything in his power to make this weekend happen, whether that was now or in the future. He would wait for her.
Jack got himself ready for bed, leaving Samira, looking too comfy in the giant fluffy blanket they had brought with them sound asleep on the massive bed. Both of them enjoy sleeping in a cold room, cuddling and burrowing in blankets; unless of course the temperature got too dire.
He wasn't sleepy but he wanted to lay in bed with her. With a low light he pulls out a book and laid with her until she reached for him. He settled next to her, staring at her beautiful face memorizing each curve until sleep clawed at him.
*********
Jack wakes a few hours later with Samira’s face in the crock of his neck, kissing him. They're slow wet kisses that keep him in a sleepy daze. That is, until her hand starts wandering. He registers her hands on his chest slidding to his biceps, caressing him in long sweeping movements. He jolts with a pleased gasp when she tugs at his piercing, never ceasing her kisses on his neck. He had never been so happy to sleep shirtless.
He loved waking up this way, slowly and coaxed awake with her kisses.
When she noticed he's wide awake she whined his name, sleepy and hoarse. On instinct he pulled her so she was half laying on top of him.
“Hi baby,” he whispered in her ear, kissing along the skin of her neck. His cock twitched as she let out a soft moan.
“Did you sleep well?” he asked, dropping bites and kisses between each word.
“Yes, but I woke up needing you,” she whined again, throwing her leg across his lap. There were few weight of her leg on his aching cock made him thrust up.
“My pretty girl needs me?”
She nodded and moved to straddle him, they were connected from pelvis to lips. He moaned when he felt the heat coming from her cunt.
His hands dipped to grab handfuls of her ass to grind her down onto him. He arranged his cock between her parted legs and lips, exposing her swollen clit to the friction. He could feel it throb, her whole cunt drenched and pulsing on his dick. It was sin.
She doesn't need much more coaxing to begin grinding faster.
Even with their clothes in the way he can feel how hot and wet she was, how desperate she was. His own precum added to the obscenity, as their clothes became soaked.
His hands roamed down her thighs and up, hands reaching under the sweater she had on, groaning as he felt her hot skin beneath his hands.
“Kiss me,” she pleaded and he brought her mouth closer, sucking on her tongue.
Their kisses get more sloppy, wet and desperate as her hips move faster. He can feel the wetness seeping from her in waves. The friction a delicious pain as she rutted against him.
She starts to pant into his mouth, unable to do anything but grind and race towards her climax.
Jack can feel his cock strain against the soft fabric of his sleep pants, desperate. He wanted to be buried beneath her.
“Jaaaack,” a long moan lets him know she was close.
“Gonna come?”
She nods rapidly, moaning into his mouth.
“Yeah pretty girl? Yeah,” he whispers into her mouth, bringing up his leg to give her more leverage.
“Take what you need, c’mon. Come for me Samira.
Come all over me so I can fuck your pretty pussy baby and hear how wet you are.”
It takes her a few more thrusts before she comes, the wetness between them, loud even through all the layers they wore.
He flips her over, yanking at her leggings and panties, throwing them somewhere on the floor.
He groans as he takes her in, pussy swollen and drenched. He can’t help but lean down to lick her, tasting her cum and taking her clit into his mouth. He loved the taste of her. Could spend the rest of the night worshiping her with his mouth.
She flinches however, groaning as she took him by the hair and hauled him up.
Their lips don't separate as he slides in, groaning into each other's mouths as saliva and her cum drench their chins. In frantic tugs their clothes come off and they are finally fully naked.
He holds her to him, not letting an inch of space between them. Her arms wrapped around him, his hands at her neck and hip. It was like they wanted to melt into each other's skin, to burrow into one another and become one. Few things compared to the feeling of Samira's hot sweat soaked skin against his, the harness of her nipples poking at his chest, and her hot wet cunt begging for his touch.
They only pull apart to catch their breaths but even so, their lips trailed across necks and shoulders. Their hands never stop roaming and groping at each other.
“Jack please,” she pleads into the skin of his shoulder.
”Shh shh I’ll take care of you.”
His hips speed up as he hitches her leg up to go deeper. They both moan at the change in depth.
Her hands pull at his hair and he feels it at the base of his spine. His desperation skyrockets but he needs her to come first.
He pulls away from her a bit, hand snaking to pull a taunt nipple between his fingers. It’s what she needed.
She clenches hard as she cums, pulling a sharp gasp out of him as he follows her, burying himself inside.
They kiss slowly, tongues playing as they come down, heart rate returning to normal. It was only when the sweat on their skin grew cold did they make an attempt to move.
”I love you,” Samira whispers before he pulls away to clean her up.
They fall back to sleep, sated and so ridiculously in love.
*****
Samira wakes naturally, no alarm to startle her to consciousness. Just the slow return to her body as the morning sun caressed her skin.
Samira turned to see that Jack was already awake. His eyes were half closed but he sported the softest smile on his face.
He pulled her closer, like the space between them was too vast. The cold nipped at them from outside of their cocoon, it kissed Samira's skin as she moved her hand to lay it on his cheek. Her fingers caressing the curls at his temple.
They simply stared at one another. Even after all this time she still got butterflies in her stomach when he looked at her like this, with every fiber of his being. It was overwhelming once, now she sinks into it.
She traces the lines by his eyes with the tip of her fingers, engraining them into memory.
Some days, like today, she forgets a time where she didn’t love or wasn’t loved by Jack.
He had been a constant in her life for years. A champion in her corner and a presence that reminded her that she didn’t need to be afraid of needing someone, of needing him.
It had taken her a while to accept him, to come to terms with her feelings and what that meant. But even though she had resisted, he had stood by her, never pushing, never expecting anything from her. He seemed content to be her friend, to be someone she could talk to and joke with. He saw her and it made her feel more human.
Jack made it easy for her to be the best version of herself when doubt crept in.
She remembers when he had surprised her by leaving the Pitt, leaving Pittsburgh and his life there to follow her to Boston.
She had freaked out a bit, because she didn’t always feel like she deserved that kind of devotion. But Jack always made sure to remind her, to show her she was more than worth it.
They had settled into this new life well. Samira was so happy it scared her if she thought of it too often. Like was it okay to be this happy? When would the other shoe drop?
“What are you thinking so hard about?”
She brings herself closer, resting her forehead on his.
”Thinking of us. About how we got here.”
He just hummed like he understood, like he too was thinking of them.
“All good things I hope,” he said, dropping a kiss on her nose. She giggled at the tickle his stubble gave her.
“Yes, but all the other stuff too. Makes me realize how much I love you,” her words make his breath hitch. He was usually the one who was more comfortable and free with his proclamations of love.
Jack knows Samira loves him of course, but she also knows he loves to hear her say it.
She kisses him, a soft touching of lips as they breath each other in.
Jack suddenly rises from the bed, at her confused look he smiles and tells her to stay put. She does as he says of course, too comfortable and warm to want to move.
He comes back quickly, hopping into bed, dropping his crutches unceremoniously. She giggles as the bed shuffles her closer to him. He rearranges her so she's laying atop his chest. She loves when he manhandles her. With a sigh she lays her head on his chest, listening to the strong beating of his heart. His hand comes up to her head, playing with her hair, and caressing her back.
She felt so warm and content, she wanted to lay in bed all day, Jack would probably like that.
“Samira,” she lifts her head, laying her chin on his chest.
There was a look on his face that made her curious about what's on his mind.
“I love you.
I want to wake up every morning to you in my bed. I want to fall asleep beside you. I want to hold you and make you laugh. Make you smile.
I want to watch you become the best doctor I have ever had the pleasure of getting to know. Because you are so brilliant. You are the smartest person I know, the smartest person in any room. I love your big beautiful brain.
I have been in love with you for so long that sometimes I’m afraid you're going to slip away and I somehow made this all up. Because how can someone like you love me?
A broken man, with more issues than sense. But you do and I am done looking a gift horse in the mouth.”
He takes a deep breath, voice hoarse like he was fighting tears. The same tears she felt in her own eyes.
”I want to spend the rest of my life with you.
After losing love once, I don’t want to wait or hesitate to love you in my every waking moment.”
He reaches for something she hadn’t noticed he had placed on the bedside table. It's a small black box.
Samira gasps, she shifts, sitting up to get a better look at him and the little box in his hand.
Jack looked terrified, an emotion she has never seen him sport, and didn't think he was capable of feeling.
He follows her and sits, his back curved and gaze cast down. He never shied away from eye contact. There was a silence where she swore she could hear his heart beating in his chest, or maybe that was hers she could hear. With a deep breath pulled from the bottom of his chest, Jack looks up at her and Samira thinks about how soft he looks, how vulnerable. She thinks about how much she loves him.
He opens the box and inside she sees the ring; a beautiful piece that she had fallen in love with months ago. Her heart swells in her chest.
“Samira Mohan, will you do me the honor of marrying me?”
Samira does not hesitate, she moves to take Jack's face in her hands. She looks into his eyes, at the love she can see in them, at the strength he offers her and Samira knows with a certainty that scares her that she wants to spend the rest of her life with him.
“Yes, yes, yes, yes I’ll marry you.”
The smile at her answer makes her dizzy with joy. She pulls him into a kiss, arms wrapping around his neck as he pulls her closer.
When they pull away, Jack grabs her hand.
”Let’s get this ring on you yeah?”
He slips the ring onto her finger and something settles in Samira’s belly at the rightness of it.
She stays in his lap, admiring her hand and the ring on it. It looked perfect and right there on her finger.
“Are you ready to be mister Mohan,” she teases, dropping a kiss on his nose. But Jack looks at her with a serious face.
”I am more than ready Miss Mohan-Abbot.”

Samira decides to wait until they're about to head back home to send out the pictures.
She opens their group chat and attaches the four pictures she took of her ring. All but the one Jack had taken of her hand, ring glistening and wrapped around his leaking cock.
It takes Trinity a minute to respond and two minutes for Samira’s phone to start ringing with a facetime call.
Her scream is the first sound on the call.
”SAMIRA. HE FINALLY POPPED THE QUESTION? WHEN? HOW? SHOW ME THE RING?”
Her excitement makes Jack and Samira laugh. Victoria and Heather congratulate them. They catch Ellis on shift and she knows that before the end of the hour, the entirety of her former work place would know they were getting hitched. A secret part of her relished the idea.
“I was hoping you two would get engaged sooner, rather than later,” Heather says once Trinity has calmed down enough to let speak.
”Yeah it took us long enough,” Jack replies, bringing her hand up to kiss her ring finger.
“So when’s the wedding?”
