Summary
“Well, you said you’re 90% sure you’re getting stood up. And I’m 100% sure that I’ve already been stood up. I know baseball isn’t really your thing but,” Steve wiggles the tickets between his fingers. “Road-rip?”
“One condition,” Eddie says, pursing his lips.
“I’m giving you a free ticket and day in Chicago but sure, let’s negotiate,” Steve teases.
Grabbing his empty cup, Steve follows his lead as he tosses it in the trash. Eddie spins back around, heart clattering in his chest as he comes almost literally face to face with Steve who’s close enough that Eddie can smell the cologne he’d dabbed on for his date.
Warm, spicy, Steve’s signature scent. Eddie hates that he knows that.
When he finds his tongue again, he shakes his head and smiles, signing his own fucking death warrant for the day.
“If we’re doing your date, we’ve gotta do mine, too.”
Or, Eddie and Steve are set up on blind dates by Robin and Chrissy. They both get stood up. Or, do they?

Summary
Steve’s pool unearthed a portal to another world in 1983 and now, Steve’s made his living by exploring and discovering other worlds. Years ago, Eddie had asked why Steve chose something so grueling.
“We know there’s shit out there that hasn’t been explained, man.” Steve says with an exhale, smoke curling up towards the midnight sky with Eddie in his backyard. “Things that could be dangerous, things that could change how we all see like, just life in general, y’know? I don’t know, I guess if I can understand the universe a little bit better, the Upside Down might make more sense and it won’t feel like this horror movie that crashed through Byers’ walls for no fucking reason and ruined all of our lives.”
Eddie smiles at the memory as Steve ushers him into the dome of the observatory, watching as he fiddles with the different lens and opens the little slit in the roof to position the telescope.
Or, Steve Harrington devotes his life to understanding the inexplicable mysteries of the universe around them, including his feelings for Eddie Munson.

Because once a week, he had the house entirely to himself from nine am to eight at night while he had his usual day off at the library and Robin was in class all day (and Eddie was on tour). He didn’t need the run of it, of course, because Robin would actually kill him if she found out he was engaging in sex acts in the kitchen — but it was nice to know he could be, like, loud and shift if he needed to.

The Harrington countdown. And, like, someone called him Clark Kent during the team qualifications? Like! What the fuck. How fuckin’ wild, right? Him. Jesus!
