In which Cloud accidentally brings Aerith and Zack along on a time-travel adventure. Cloud remains oblivious, Zack is determined to "fix" the past timeline, and Aerith just wants to survive with minimal damage. Sure all of Shinra is chasing after them and they may or may not think Cloud is a failed science experiment but it’s about the journey and not the destination.
Or in which Cloud makes a few accidental time travel fucksy-wucksies.

Summary
Zack Fair, bored and restless in the basement of the Shinra mansion and worried about his superior officer, who's so absorbed in old documents that he's forgetting to eat and sleep, goes poking around the place and finds a coffin.
Vincent Valentine wasn't sure what he'd thought would happen if he ever met Lucrecia Crescent's son, but he didn't expect that their first conversation would be about how you go about forging the contents of a research journal.
Hojo is disappointed that Sephiroth destroyed his "mother" and left Nibelheim sane, and switches to his Plan B. Which involves waking something else that should never have been touched.
In the background, the Planet is arguing with itself as the echoes of a two-thousand-year-old civil war begin to reverberate once again.
And in the middle of all this, poor Vincent is wondering if it's creepy to be attracted to the son of a woman you once had a terrible crush on, and, if not, how you go about suggesting you're interested in a romantic relationship to a man whose survival has always depended on maintaining his emotional isolation.

The thought clattered in his mind as he reluctantly uncurled from his sleeping position. It didn’t suit someone of his station- a king shouldn’t be so feeble, so anxious, especially over a plan he himself hatched.
The Pale King shuddered.
His scales itched and he desperately wished to go back to sleep. If he could avoid this dreadful responsibility for even one more day, he would be a very happy higher being. He couldn’t, of course. Too much depended on his presence, he had to be there when the eggs hatched and he had to light the way for them.
If everything worked, only his light would guide those mindless, soulless vessels to move.________________

Summary
It defies Death. It defies Time. Void has potential without any limit. The Lord of Shades rises in Godhome after ending the plague. But really, all Ghost wants to do is to go home. They did not kill the source of the infection for not going back to Hallownest. Shade Lord or not. They would give them all a happy ending. After all, what was the point in ending the infection if not to save everyone?
Or
Ghost kills the Radiance in Godhome and becomes the Lord of Shades, never entering the Black Egg or killed the Dreamers. Now, Ghost, along with Hornet and the newly-freed Hollow Knight takes it upon themselves to help everyone recover and perhaps give this forgotten kingdom the future it deserves.
