"I am happy for you." Akaashi says, like he's practiced this before, like he knew it was inevitable.
If a smile accompanies that statement, Bokuto doesn't want to see, not when their home has been quieter since its arrival, not when they should be talking when they clearly aren't.
While Akaashi is nothing less than his fiance's biggest supporter, he sometimes forgets that Bokuto is his too.

The truth is, he has yet to consider this an option. The idea of Bokuto sitting beside his mom, the former filled with naive praise, while the latter in quiet disdain, fills Akaashi with dread.
"I am sure he's the type to bring a large bouquet of flowers,” one friend suggests, “and balloons,” another adds.
"Bokuto-san seems like the type to propose during graduation."

"What type of situation?" he's on alert, shoulders tense and frown visible.
"Well, I might have accidentally," Bokuto looks at him sheepishly, like a child caught doing something wrong, "become a meme."
"A meme," his boyfriend echoes back.
Udai doesn't believe in love, but between pro-volleyball players and grand declarations of affection, he figures they come the closest.
