What if Brian and Roger had become romantically involved with each other before Queen happened? What is they chose to stay together and try to keep their relationship a secret from the narrow minded world they live in? How would Queen's story been different if the quarter included a couple? How would these men manage to maintain this secret while slowing becoming a famous rock band and being ever more exposed to the spotlight? How would their closest friends and family react to them being together and also work to keep their secret?

I pondered this 'what if' for a while and began writing a story of what might have happened. This series is a long term look at the challenges Maylor would face trying to be together in a world that doesn't celebrate or tolerate that kind of love.

Notes:

I wrote this using the timeline of Queen's history as a band and as individuals. Of course this is fiction but I tried to incorporate as much fact as I could to flesh out something real in the telling. I am faithful as possible to the availability of technology and also what is taking place in the world at the time stamps in my story. I have included real world events to help install a sense of the time and also to better understand the world they are trying to live in as a couple.

I want to state that some real life persons from their history are included and some have had character modifications to suit my story. It is fiction but I liked the idea of some of these people being there but in different capacities in their lives. There are also some fictional characters who are there solely to enhance the story and are sometimes partly based on real people from their history.

My goal is write their story from the time they get together until current day. I hope you enjoy my tale of two lovers and please remember this is a work of fiction and there is no intent to harm or offend anyone. There are continual themes in this story regarding LGBTQ issues. I hope I am trying to convey to those who were not alive during the 70's and 80's what it was like to be living during a time when not being straight was something many people chose to hide.
