Tim could not be more JJ then Tim, because then he wasn’t Tim, but he should be over this by now. It was years ago.
Only Alfred and Bruce knew. Bruce because he was there, to see the real JJ (where his skin was pale, his lips were red in a twisted grin, and his hair was a messy green. Don’t you miss that? Belonging to someone?).
...And Alfred had dealt with the aftermath, making him Tim again. (but you are not Tim. Tim is dead. This isn’t your room. This isn’t your house. They aren’t your parents. Are you done playing pretend?)
Tim was JJ, and JJ was Tim. That was the only thing that made sense.

Martin was a pretty lonely kid. That was a thing that happened naturally when his only remaining parent decided it was a good idea to distance herself from him, for various reasons, none that were particularly valid.
Ever since his dad had left, his mum had taken a turn for the worst. Snapping at him for the littlest of things, even when he didn’t even do anything wrong.
It.. sucked, no matter how better and better he felt he was getting at his people-watching skills, to determine their moods and, well, thoughts, in a fruitless hope that figuring it out would be the key to finding the way to get their love.
Nurses pitied him, those out of the neighborhood, unable to hear the poisoning whispers of a mother blaming her son for all her issues, and who had converted many of her friends to hate him too.

A child that happened to be both Forsaken-oriented, and Beholding-oriented, because if they were going to be a married couple, then what about a family? Creating an actual child was completely out of the question, so the only other option would be to look for one. What.

Tim took a moment to register that. “What?”
Ra’s didn’t seem to be annoyed by his one-liner. “Talia was a blessing, however blood isn’t everything–”
“–so I would prefer to make you an offer. Won’t you be my heir? I will not impede on your quest to save the Detective.”
Was he dreaming? Wait, ew, no, why would he even dream about this in the first place?
“What about Damian?”
Ra’s raised an eyebrow, “What about him? He is unfit for leadership. Many of my men are planning to desert if he becomes the head, that is how bad it is. If not for Talia’s sympathy, I would’ve killed him, simple as that.”
Tim flinched.
