Darius hesitates, his hands hovering above the pan for a beat. Hunter raises a curious brow, Darius doesn't usually do that.
"I uh," Darius stutters, his hands fluttering up the back of his head and scratch at it nervously. "Things at work got tense and everything, you know how it is."
Hunter does in fact not know how it is. He doesn't even know the older man works now that he's thinking of it. He's never bothered to ask at the time because they weren't as close when Darius had first taken him in.
Hunter shakes off the anxiety icing over in his gut and mutters a forced, "Okay," under his breath.
Or, Hunter and Darius are truly trying.

"Hunter." Willow snaps, her eyes a blazing fire, "My parents are missing and you think that I should give all my attention to you?"
Hunter flinches back, surprised at her sudden anger. "Sorry."
Willow glares at him for a full minute before her eyes finally soften and she sighs, running a hand through her hair, "I'm sorry, you didn't deserve that."
"No it's okay, I get your frustration." Hunter tries to smile, tries to remain as positive as he can since that's what seems like Willow needs the most right now. Despite how heavy his chest felt.
Willow nods, "Thank you. It feels like you're the only one who truly gets it."
In a way he does. He sometimes wishes he didn't. But he unfortunately does at this very moment.
Or, Willow's parents go missing and Hunter decides to step in and help.

Hunter would restlessly shuffle like a cat trying to find that perfect position that would knock him out in seconds. She didn't question it nor did she stop him. She'd patiently wait, not looking at him despite how badly she wanted to while he shuffled and twisted and turned in place.
It was fine.
Or, Hunter suffers with nightmares and Willow tries her best to help out.

He nearly trips over a branch and quickly pushes that thought aside as he shoves past the bushes and trees, already knowing how much Hunter would rely on the surrounding to keep himself hidden hidden from any prying eyes.

"What do you mean? Is..." Willow trailed off as she got up from her chair and gently set a hand onto his shoulder, "Is sculpting not enjoyable anymore?"
Hunter clenched his jaw at the question - was sculpting fun anymore? He wouldn't say that he felt miserable doing it, but he wouldn't say that he was necessarily enjoying it anymore.
Or, Hunter is an aspiring sculpter, but something in him is telling him that maybe this is not the correct path for him. Not like he was perfect anyways.
