Summary
“You look like a fuckin’ idiot with those on indoors, you know.”
“You were the one complaining!”
“You were the one that looked sick!”
“Captain,” Ghost sighed, and Soap imagined that behind the glasses, he was rolling his eyes. “I’m not sick. And if I was, I wouldn’t’ve waited two hours before wheels up to say something about it.”
Ghost pushes himself a little too far, and passes out in MacTavish’s office after a mission successfully completed. MacTavish has a soft spot for him, and helps him get better.
(or— a completely self indulgent sickfic. titles from the poem by mahmoud darwish!)

“Don’t think I was being particularly disrespectful. Sir,” he tacked on, with a flicker of ill placed humour, and MacTavish’s temper flared.

“You’ve never had a problem sleeping around me.”
“That’s different,” Ghost replied, eyebrows furrowing. When MacTavish didn’t reply, his expression seemed to harden, pushing his thumbs into his vest. Thunder rolled distantly, and Ghost’s eyebrows flickered between the window and the closed bedroom door.
“Alright. Sleep out here, then.”

Summary
“Nothin’ to talk about?” He echoed, disbelieving. “That why Major Richards was just in my office, because there’s nothing to talk about?”
“What’d he say?” Ghost asked, crossing his arms. A muscle in MacTavish’s jaw twitched.
“That I needed a better lead for my mutt,” he replied, voice thick with derision. Ghost twitched, hands curling into fists, and MacTavish caught it; a moment passed, and he held out the waterbottle again.

Summary
Ghost’s boots were by his bed, glasses on the nightstand, and if he wasn’t so confused, he might have found it funny. A few careful steps brought him closer to his bed; one arm hung off the edge of the bed, mask clutched in a loose fist. He was curled up under the blanket so that his hair and his eyes were visible— ostensibly protecting his face, even in sleep— and was out cold, based on the way he hadn’t stirred at all.
A mission goes wrong, and MacTavish goes to find Ghost to see what happened. He finds him in MacTavish’s bedroom, asleep in his bed.

“Tea,” he answered, one word.
“Idea of a curfew a fucking joke to you, lieutenant?”
“Could say the same to you,” Ghost replied, switching off the stove and holstering the knife. A muscle in MacTavish’s jaw twitched, and he took another step forward— Ghost’s hands balled into fists.
“What’s the matter with you?” Ghost asked, looking him up and down.
“Nothing’s the matter, Riley—”
MacTavish wakes up from a fight, and Ghost gives him somewhere to throw his fists until he feels like himself again.

On closer inspection, it looked a bit like wall plaster, with a smattering of fruit on top that was now falling off—

It wasn’t exactly a sob that he heard— it was too small, too thin. It wasn’t quite a sigh, either— whatever it was, it had him pausing mid-sentence.
