Summary
In another timeline, there was a good chance they would have been enemies. They were on two opposite ends of their class's hierarchy, and had different standings in the bunker in general. Their first interactions had certainly not been very pleasant when they were kids. By all accounts, they should have grown up to be enemies, or at the very least not liking one another.
And yet... it was remarkable how one single event could change so much. Make them realize how alone they both were. And thanks to that, they were now inseparable. And along the way, they made two more friends who they could trust... and who also needed help of their own.
So now, they were a squad of four - four teenage drones against the rest of the bunker. And if any of their classmates wanted to cause one of them problems... they would learn how their unlikely group backed one another up. (And also, those people could bite them!)

Summary
Before Copper-9 and the Core Collapse, on Earth, there was a wealthy family known as the Elliotts. They lived in a fancy manor in a swamp, where they raised (and abused) their only child Tessa. The teenager's only friends were the drones she repaired from the mounds outside of her house, whom all had their... own complicated relationships.
If things were different, then perhaps those complications would have remained... But small events are happening that will perhaps bring them all closer. To clear up the tension between a few of them and make them stand stronger. All it takes is a few small changes to bring friends closer together... and become a nice, proper family of misfits.
Changes are coming for the young Elliott and her favorite drones... all while ignorant of their inevitable future. But who knows how these changes might affect what comes after that?
