Summary
Captain Kim Hongjoong winces as he fetches up hard against the hull of the derelict spaceship. He hates EVAs. From inside his ship, Treasure, the vastness of space is the twinkling promise of freedom. From outside his ship, it’s a freezing, murderous vacuum he has to navigate with limbs that don't respond the way he expects in spacesuits that never fit him properly.
Yunho, who was born on a spaceship, lands much more gracefully a moment later. “Nicely done, sir. Much better than last time.”
Mingi, monitoring from Treasure’s bridge, snorts.
Hongjoong ignores them. He only sprained his wrist a tiny bit. It could have happened to anyone. “Let’s get this thing open.”
“Yes, sir,” Yunho replies. Hongjoong can hear him smiling. Asshole.

Summary
“The Browncoats were a bunch of cowards and traitors,” the Alliance bootlicker says. “The amnesty was a joke. If it had been up to me, they would have been wiped off of every planet in the system.”
Hongjoong straightens and pushes off the bar. “Are you gonna say that to my face?”
“I’ll say it to the top of your head,” the man replies, turning with an ugly grin. “You’re a coward and a traitor, and you should’ve been executed for your crimes. What are you gonna do about it from way down there?”
Hongjoong smiles. “Nothing. I just wanted to give him a chance to get behind you.”
The man starts to look just in time for Yunho to smash him in the jaw with his short-barreled rifle. It drops him like a ton of bricks. Hilarious.

A retelling of the Firefly episode Train Job in which Hongjoong takes a job from an unpleasant new client, Wooyoung deals with the effects of his injury in part one, and Yeosang tries to quiet the voices in his head.

Summary
Seonghwa puts his hands on Hongjoong’s waist. “Like this. Hips toward your opponent. Open your body. Relax.” He doesn’t speak especially firmly, doesn’t use much strength, but Hongjoong responds to his touch without thought or hesitation.
Hongjoong was wrong. Absolutely nothing Seonghwa says is going to help one fucking bit with winning a sword fight. Not when every word out of his mouth has Hongjoong wanting to break his rule about begging in the hope that Seonghwa will give him one last thrust before the end.
He isn’t really going to die tomorrow, is he? Is that why Seonghwa is here? Pity?

A retelling of the Firefly episode Shindig in which Hongjoong and Seonghwa go to a party, San and Wooyoung go on a date, Yunho and Mingi stay home, and Yeosang and Jongho make suboptimal decisions.

Summary
“I want Jongho,” Yeosang says, sounding like a petulant child.
“You can’t have Jongho,” Hongjoong replies.
Yeosang flinches. “Jongho’s quiet,” he mutters. “Not like you fuckers.”
“I ordered Jongho to get some sleep, and in a minute you’re going to be doing the same.” Hongjoong’s steady tone doesn’t leave room for debate. “We’ve all got jobs to do on this ship. My job is to make sure shit gets done. Your job is to let me inject you with this so you go the fuck to sleep and we don’t end up with those cattle stampeding and turning themselves into meat paste two days before we land. Got it?”
“It’s called pâté, asshole,” Yeosang grumbles.
“Fuck you,” Hongjoong says. “Give me your arm.”
Yeosang does as he’s told.

A retelling of the Firefly episode Safe in which Hongjoong tries to deal with a cattle sale gone bad, Wooyoung tries to help an increasingly unstable Yeosang, and Yeosang tries to find solid ground when his new source of support is torn away.

“I understand, Captain.” He moves toward Hongjoong, cautious but alluringly confident. “I understand you’ll leave me behind when you reach your destination.”
He stops close enough to touch. “In my eyes, and in my heart, we are married. And I want you to make a man of me.”
