Maddie sighs heavily and appears a lot calmer than before. "You're still in trouble, Shadow. I ought to ground you for this."
"Ah, c'mon," Tom chuckles. "It's his first offense! Why not go a little easier on the little guy?"
Maddie and Tom stare at one another in one of those silent conversations they always seem to have. He tries to decipher what they must be saying but Maddie is already turning back to him with a small huff. "Fine. Time-out until dinner is ready."
aka, Shadow gets in trouble for the first time and must endure the punishment.

Summary
Shadow has been a member of the Wachowski household for six months and has finally adjusted to being a kid after all the trauma and battles he endured, but that all changes when the Black Comet passes through Earth's sky and G.U.N. comes after Shadow when the Black Arms attack humankind.
Coincidentally, Shadow also receives visions of the red-eyed beast that demands he fulfill his destiny as was promised fifty years ago. He really can't catch a break.
