And as they walked back through the door from their little date-night where Matt babysits Keith, they’re reminded of another thing they found endearing about their son.
As soon as they walked in, little footsteps padding towards them could quickly be heard and then the sight of little Keith in black shorts and a red shirt came into view.
Adam smiled, closed the door, and locked it, taking his jacket off, while Shiro bent down and opened his arms.
Then, that little voice they came to love so much spoke, “D..Daddy...! B-B-Baba!” He threw himself into Shiro’s arms and held on tightly.
That little voice melted their hearts.

“What happened? What did you do?” He held Keith by the side of his arms and looked at him, the only thing in his eyes being confusion and sadness.
A choking feeling went in his throat and his chin curled before a quiet sob came out, “I don’t know, I’m sorry--” He whimpered out.
A scared sigh came from the other before he wrapped Keith up in a hug, “Oh Keith... Why would you...” He took a deep inhale, trying to reign in his emotions, “We’ll talk about it later—I'm gonna look at the cuts, ‘kay, buddy?” He looked down at him, and Keith saw his eyes were teary and that made him feel cared for but then that made him feel guilty.

Shiro finds out that Keith cuts himself and takes care of his little brother. Keith just feels relieved that somebody actually cares for him. Hurt/comfort and family feels ensues.

Through tears and hiccups, the boy exclaimed, “I thought you were gonna throw it at me!” And Shiro and Adam’s eyes widened in horror.
Frantically shaking his head, Shiro he tried to reassure Keith and remain calm, but he his heart was racing himself. “Oh-- oh god, no, Keith! I wouldn’t ever do that!” He stressed, feeling unsure of what to do as Keith continued to cry.
Luckily, Adam remained the voice of reason as always and slowly rubbed Keith’s back. “Shhh... you’re safe, Habibi... No one is going to hurt you...” He kissed the child’s head tenderly as he shook into him.

Shiro accidently drops his food on the ground and Keith has a flashback. Adam and Shiro comfort their twelve-year-old.

However, his adoptive brother was there to make sure he got help he needed and tried to make sure everything was going to be okay. They go to the hospital and after, the cuddle because Keith wants to feel safe and Shiro would do anything to make Keith feel safe right now.
This is not a Sheith fanfiction! This is Shiro comforting his younger brother who went through abuse.
