“Hi,” Luca says, apologetic. “Sorry I’m late.”
Ilya turns his head, then blinks. Shane follows his line of sight, expression shifting.
There’s a sharp line of eyeliner across Luca’s waterline, smeared a little on the bottom. Under the lighting, the minuscule amount of white glitter dabbed at the corner and bottom of eyes twinkles. His shirt is tightly fit, a little sheer, cut off just above his black pants. There’s a line of skin between his shirt and pants, the smallest peek of a thin, black tattoo visible on his hip. Silver glints: there’s a bout of jewelry scattered across his body— earrings, a plastic Casio watch, a necklace hanging from his neck.
“You look like you could ruin someone’s life,” LaPointe blurts out.

“Ilya,” Shane murmurs, voice low.
Ilya’s noticed the same thing he has— a familiar Russian man, tall, slender, wearing a floral satin shirt, is half-leaning towards Luca, lips pulled flirtatiously. He says something with a shark-like smile; Luca, a little like he’s amused by the entire situation, quirks his eyebrow.
“Fucking Sasha,” Ilya hisses.

Summary
Luca hits the boards, and then crumples onto the ice right above it, splayed out on his stomach. There’s a moment of normalcy in the game as they give a second for him to get up— then a moment of jumbled panic when he doesn’t. Luca doesn’t stir. His eyes are drooped closed inside his helmet, head curled inwards at an angle. “Medic,” the referee barks, a calm, blanketed urgency coloring his tone.
Thick, syrupy panic hits Shane in the chest. It hits him like a truck, the realization that this is what Ilya had felt like, all those years ago.

Summary
The bartender is turned around, arm stretched upwards towards a top shelf. He’s wearing low rise pants and a black long-sleeve shirt cut off right above his waistline, revealing a stretch of skin that harbors a recognizable tattoo at his tailbone. The back of his head is familiar too— a bout of curls, flopping just past his nape, the glint of tiny silver hoops poked into his ears.
Shane blinks as they come up closer. “Holy shit,” he remarks as Ilya says, “Haasy?”
Luca whips around at the sound of their voices, wide-eyed.

Summary
Luca’s being bear-hugged by Rozanov from behind, so much so that his weight is nearly entirely supported by the man, his toes barely touching the ground. Luca’s laughing, the noise resembling something more of a giggle, as Rozanov peppers kisses on the side of his neck, then ears, nipping at the skin. “Hey,” he’s grumbling, a smile evident in his voice.
And Hollander. He’s off to the side, pausing from whatever task he’s doing to watch them. There’s nothing near shock, disgust. The sheer amount of adoration in his eyes is something they’ve only seen reserved for Rozanov— and.
And LaPointe blinks, steps back so slowly he won’t make any noise, turns around, and leaves.

Summary
Early on, after one of Haas’ first games with the team, Hollander had scored the winning goal. Rozanov had been joking around with his husband, parading praise around the locker room afterward, pressing a sloppy kiss to his cheek. Hollander rolled his eyes, chided, “Ilya.”
Haas was watching them, expression crooked into something a little unimpressed. Rozanov had noticed, arched his own eyebrow, and said, voice flat, “You have something to say, Haasy?”
Haas looked back and forth between them flippantly. “No, Captain.”
