Summary
Do, soul, do; abuse and condemn thyself; yet a while and the time for thee to respect thyself, will be at an end. Every man’s happiness depends from himself, but behold thy life is almost at an end, whiles affording thyself no respect, thou dost make thy happiness to consist in the souls, and conceits of other men. Summary
“You’re perilously close to insubordination, Firefighter Buckley. I suggest you suck it up and do what you’re told.”
Buck turned to ‘Acting’ Captain Han, and, standing tall enough to tower over him, he loudly proclaimed for all those in hearing and camera range to hear, “Then do it. And I’ll be sure to post it online along with your being buddy, buddy with my sister’s abusive husband as he was getting ready to murder her. And then tie that together with your trying to date my grieving sister after she had to fend off and kill her abusive husband, and her telling you ‘NO.’ You’re just like her husband, Doug, in that you don’t take no for an answer. And get abusive with someone in a submissive position to you when it happens.” Buck swept his arms to show all around the outside area they were cleaning up, and all those now with cameras filming the altercation. Much to Han’s surprise.

“Your Exhausting! We all have our own problems, but you don’t see us whining about it.
“No. Somehow, we just manage to suck it up. Why can’t you?” Diaz yelled out in his tantrum.
Buck tuned out the rest until Eddie told everyone within hearing of his bellowing about what a deadbeat dad he was being to a ‘Not-His-Kid.’He put his hand up in Diaz’s face forcefully to shut him up and got within his space. His emotions locked down and his face blanked as he had been trained to do so ever since Maddie left him the first time when he was nine. And through most of his life until he got out of the navy at twenty-seven.

Summary
Buck knew that Bobby and the others were also being questioned about what they witnessed at the station earlier that day. And knew he was the first to demand his union representative be with him when he was escorted into interrogation by the officer as he still had a bad reaction to the last time he was in a room like that.
And he felt they were sweating him out by making him wait and questioning the others about what happened. But he did. Not. Care.
Like before, he had YET to be read his rights. And was therefore NOT under arrest. And either they did something about that soon, or he was walking out and seeing what they did about that. As he was the VICTIM of the assault, and not the other way around.Series

Summary
“It is not the responsibility of knights errant to discover whether the afflicted, the enchained and the oppressed whom they encounter on the road are reduced to these circumstances and suffer this distress for their vices, or for their virtues: the knight's sole responsibility is to succour them as people in need, having eyes only for their sufferings, not for their misdeeds.” ― Miguel de Cervantes, Don Quixote

“I don’t want to get involved in a big controversy and argue about the treatment of slaves toward whom we are most arrogant, cruel, and offensive. But this is the sum of my guidance: deal with your inferior the way you wish your superior would deal with you. However, many times it pops in your mind to consider how much is right for you regarding your slave, let it also occur that this is permitted to your master regarding you. “But I have no master” you say. Your age is still good. Don’t you know how old Hecuba was when she began to serve, or Croeseus, or Darius’ mother, or Plato and Diogenes?” - Seneca,

Summary
Chris was cleaning out his father’s storage unit after having put it off as long as he could. Finding much of his childhood preserved in the boxes saved, but few things from his father’s past.
In a lone, small, box, was an old phone, he vaguely remembered his father having when they were happy together, along with the power cords to charge it back up.
He had no idea what possessed him, but he took it home with him and recharged it. Trying different combinations till it opened up its secrets to him. Presenting names on the phone that were no longer with him or his family.
At the top of the list was a name Chris hadn’t thought seriously about since the great Kim debacle and his fleeing to his grandparents.

Summary
A branch cut off from a tree is naturally severed from the whole tree. Similarly, a person separated from others distances themselves from the community. While a branch is cut off by external force, a person separates themselves through their own actions—through hatred and aversion, unaware of their disconnection from the whole. Yet, the gift of Zeus, who created the great community, allows us to rejoin our kind and become part of the whole again. Frequent separations make reunification harder. A branch growing continuously on a tree is not the same as one that has been cut off and reattached; they may appear similar but have different natures.
