Sophie’s teasing grows bolder, dancing dangerously close to the unresolved tension between her and Keith, who struggles to contain a mounting storm of guilt, fear, and desire. Helena senses the fracture widening in her husband, watching the signs of a man unraveling quietly beside her. As the night winds down, what should’ve been a simple gathering spirals into a silent confrontation with memory, morality, and the ghosts they brought back.
White Room isn’t just a memory, it’s a warning. A moment he sees again and again, and the one he keeps hallucinating every time he touches the line between duty and desire. Every time he thinks he’s about to lose her. Or worse — already has.
This oneshot is meant to represent the Barings' first argument over their relationship in years. At its heart, the story explores restraint, the slow rot of unspoken things and unfaithful thruths, and the delicate act of pretending — as if nothing happened.
