It was a nice day then too, he'd been playing outside. Jameson Fitzgerald, the kid who lived next door, had just gotten a trampoline and he wanted to play together. He'd spent half the afternoon throwing and chasing the same ball around the yard.
Momma had warned him not to play too close to the street, the Fitzgerald's didn't have a fenced yard like they did, and they didn't live in a cul de sac like the Abrams, so they weren't allowed to play hockey in the road either. His Momma told him it was too dangerous- she told him not to play in the road.
But he didn't listen. His ball had rolled into the road and he thought- he thought he could just go and grab it. There was a bug, on the ground he remembered, he knows it was there but can't for the life of him remember what it looked like. The stupid bug was the reason he killed his sister and he can't even remember what it looked like.
