He is saved by Tony, and they bond over crime, where Barry adopts the alias "The Chemist."
Barry develops feelings for Clyde but spirals into depression after Clyde's death. He later finds hope with Leonard and joins the Rogues. While doing undercover work at the CCPD, Barry disguises himself as a woman and is assaulted by two officers. Fueled by anger, he steals evidence and erases criminal records. He reconnects with Iris, who remains unaware of his true identity.

“Hi, Snart,” she croaks. “Did you miss me?”
There's a smile in his voice when he side-steps that question. “Powers running out of control, I hear.”
