“So have they explained the process to you? The clinics and the calendars? How long your sperm is viable before it can’t be used? Or are you just gonna hand it over and let them freeze it until it works?” She asks, genuinely interested in the topic despite the fact that she’s talking about Buck’s jizz.
The question makes everyone silent again, Ravi looking curious about the topic, because he’s curious about most topics, bless him.
Buck closes his eyes and clenches them shut. “Um. No, we didn’t really… get a chance to talk about that stuff yet…” He trails off and hopes they all let it drop.
Hen doesn’t, because of course she doesn’t. She now has a clinical and professional interest in the subject as a (hopefully) future doctor. “You didn’t get a chance? What the hell else would you have been talking about?”
Buck takes a deep breath and rips the (waterproof, extra-durable) adhesive bandage off. “We just went ahead and tried it the old-fashioned way.”

When Suzie looked up, a Daeferno floated there, the warm waving flames from its tail and shoulders melting away the snow around it. Suzie easily recognized this particular Daeferno as Quincy's, based on the pattern of near-imperceptible fractures that danced along its skull and the distinctive chip in its left horn.
Burying her face in the warm scruff around the Doodle's neck, Suzie couldn't help but fantasize about what life would be like if none of this time travel, saving the world shenanigans ever happened.

As he strolls towards Albedo, the man begins to morph in a way that is both beautiful and terribly disconcerting, like a rainbow in a puddle of oil. His skin ripples like jelly and his body seems to shrink into itself. The colour leaches from his hair until it’s the same shade as Albedo’s own, his eyes taking on the blue of the sky.
“I’m not your brother, Subject Two,” Albedo says. “And I’m not pining.”
Albedo seems incapable of asking out the woman he's visibly yearning for. So, as a good older brother, Subject Two does it for him.
