Sunday narrowed his eyes imperceptibly. Aventurine was certainly as capricious as others described him. “I don’t make a habit of gambling.” He forced out his next words. “But…I suppose I would be amenable.”
“I'm glad you came around.” Aventurine let the poker chip fall and leaned forward. His eyes were hypnotic under the headache inducing lights. Almost soothing, even. “Even if you don’t gamble, isn’t the idea of taking a risk exciting? Winning or losing everything…all determined by chance.”
Sunday scoffed softly, allowing himself to emote freely for the first time that night. Now that he and Aventurine had made a deal, he had slightly more wiggle room. “I don’t take risks, Mr. Aventurine. With my plans, nothing is left up to chance. When I play, I play with the utmost certainty that I will win.”
He and Aventurine made searing eye contact for what felt like an eternity before the blond man huffed out a laugh and broke it. “You’re an interesting one.” He said, bemused.
A ghost of a smile crossed Sunday’s face. “I could say the same about you, Mr. Aventurine.”
Their game had already begun.

Robin was acting strange. There was nothing that gave her away outright but Sunday could just tell that there was something bothering her. It probably had to do with whatever was on her phone. He would have to question her later.
"You sure you're okay?" Sunday looked at his sister with a concerned expression and leaned his hand against her shoulder, grounding her.
"Um, yeah I'm good." She breathed, giving her brother a quick smile. And while he looked unconvinced he decided to let it go for now.
"Okay, well I'll be right back so sit tight." He leaned down and gave her a quick kiss on the top of her head.
She needed to calm down, she was here with her brother and everything was fine. Sure it was weird but she could handle it, this wasn't the first time after all.
But still as she watched her brother leave she couldn't help the sinking feeling she felt in her gut.
Or: Robin and Sunday have an eventful evening.
