"We're willing to make a deal." Ryan had lied, knowing full well he had no authority to offer anyone anything. Hell, the FBI didn't even know he was holding a press conference. "If any follower, or acolyte, of Joe Carroll is willing to cooperate with the federal authorities, they will be given full immunity from prosecution for any crimes that they may have committed."
Ryan wasn't holding his breath waiting for someone to show up at the station. Still, when his cellphone rang not even half an hour later and he read No Caller ID on the screen, he allowed himself to hope, to believe that maybe, just maybe, he had been convincing enough.
"Hardy." He answered, his heart beating louder in his ears.
"It's Wells."

This was a place I chose to belong only when things were – hot. I was on the run, and even though I’m stuck here (jail), I’m still on-the-run. (at least in my mind). . A voice could be heard, and Ryan Hardy was staring at me up and down wearing a suit he’d hadn’t changed from. His silence was anger. His contemplations were – void, a proposition. Perhaps?

Now he is the prisoner of the same psychopath that Ryan and the whole FBI has been looking for and it forces him to relieve memories from his past he would rather stay buried.
