Zane Carver is having mixed feelings since his real parent didn't claim him for 2 years, leaving it to Athena to claim him as her own after he reacted the age of 13. He spends the first night with his adoptive siblings as they help him to adjust the new place and the new faces.
It is an idea of Athena having a right to claim a kid as her own if their parent don't by the age of 13. Zane Carver's claiming happened very different than his other siblings,who canonically got claimed at the birth. So...It got me thinking of this theory :)
