Summary
Sleep doesn’t always come easy.
For any of them, really.
Everyone had their own reasoning for it. Attributing their insomnia to the stress of living, frequent nightly disruptions in the forms of nightmares or memories they’d rather forget, byproducts of the lifestyle they had found themselves living. The complaints of too hot or so-and-so snoring were rarer, often spoken solely to ease the worry of whoever questioned your dark eyes or early wake-up.
Having something to blame was better than the alternative. Admitting you didn’t know why your brain wouldn’t shut off. When everything seemed fine, or when nothing particularly stood out.There’d been times when Daryl could pinpoint the reason for his restless nights.
This was not one of those times.

The amber glow of the lighter flickers over her face and a moment later, Margot exhales a cloud of smoke, forearms resting on the railing, back arched like a stretching cat.
"Did you help your dad kill those girls?" she says out of the blue, catching Abigail off guard, who immediately takes a step back, defensive and bristling.
Margot glances over coolly, looks her up and down, then returns her gaze straight ahead. "You're a bright girl, Abigail. I'm sure by now you've figured out that my brother didn't just /fall/ into that pig pen."
in which Margot is a cool aunt figure to Abigail, complete with sneaking her alcohol, sharing cigarettes, and confessing to murder.
