Courtney hit the pavement hard enough to rattle her teeth. Okay. Yeah. Swan-diving, fucked up arm first, into a goddamn picture was probably not her finest decision. Then again, neither was bailing out of a moving ambulance.
“Is that fuckin’ Visi?” Robert croaked from where he’d landed. Well—where he’d been dropped. Important distinction. Mostly because he sounded pissed.
Uh oh. Angry Robert. Which meant she absolutely should not turn invisible.
Which, naturally, made her want to do exactly that.

Visi and Robert have some talking to do after the whole city is under fuckin' attack thing. Gunshot wounds tend to make that a harder process, though. But they'll manage somehow. They made it this far, right?

Summary

This story follows Robert and Visi as they navigate recovery, hero work, and the messy business of learning how to let someone in. Their relationship grows in the quiet moments between crises, even as new threats loom and old trauma refuses to stay bottled up.

"Well? Are you going to help me or not?"
Robert eyes the door, then rolls his gaze back to her. She can't tell if he's thinking about it or just calculating the likelihood of other people traipsing through. There's not one room in this whole building that's truly private - Courtney makes sure of it.
"Fine, I'll take a look,” he finally agrees. “But for the record, this is definitely in the top five weirdest ways someone's asked me to touch their boobs.”
