Now he's desperately trying to control the flow of events in such a way that will ensure the survival of everyone he cares about.
A fix-it fic, because ROTT was a punch to the gut and nearly as large a travesty as the Avatar movie.

This is an alternate universe where Claire gets the amulet of daylight, and Jim gets the Skathe Hrun (otherwise known as the shadow staff), but with a slight twist. Due to an accident at school, Strickler thinks that Jim is the Trollhunter, and makes plans to take him down with Bular. Chaos ensues.This is mainly an angsty fic cause I like taking out my stress on my favorite characters sooo if angst isn’t your thing you don’t have to read obv!

Summary
Camelot is an absolute shithole. Mordred’s lived here his whole life, so he should know. Everyone hates him, the king is an insufferable ruler and an even worse father, everything’s falling to pieces underneath lavish façades, and no one’s really happy here, as much as they try to make it seem otherwise. And now, to top it all off, Mordred’s got this stupid wizard apprentice following him around as if they’re… friends?
This kid doesn’t even know him, and for the love of god, Mordred has no idea why he would want to.
Camelot is the coolest place ever. Douxie’s done his fair share of travelling throughout his short but eventful life, so he should know. He has his own room here, his own bed, and guaranteed meals every day, not to mention now being under the protection of the most powerful sorcerer of all time. And then there’s Mordred, who, sure, almost killed Douxie that one time, but that’s all in the past and they’re pretty much besties now.
Or, they will be. Douxie is determined and he knows a lonely soul when he sees one.

Out all alone on what was meant to be a simple errand, collecting herbs for Merlin, Douxie is downed when some pickpocket throws a fistful of black powder in his face - a magic suppressant and poison to wizards, he comes to find out the hard way. Unable to move or use his magic, as attempts to do both cause nothing but agony, the moppet has no choice but to rely on the slim hope of someone finding him before the poison overtakes him.
