After Rei's mental breakdown, Touya makes a promise to his mother. As she was dragged away, he told her he'd take responsibility of his siblings. At only 18 years old, he's working a full time job at the local daycare, being a full time babysitter to all of his siblings, and oh yeah- has an obnoxious bird that can't seem to leave him alone.
OR; Touya becomes a daycare worker and Hawks goes there to drop off his adoptive brother Tokoyami.

“Well, if you put it like that, I want oatmeal cookies with extra Christmas pinecone scent.”
“Do,” Touya pinches his lips sealed. Taking a deep breath, he asks, “Do you mean cinnamon?”
“Oh, is that what it is?”
“You’re bullshitting me. Tell me you’re bullshitting me.” Keigo blinks innocently back at him. “On second thought, put me under the jail. I don’t want this job.”

You’re lucky you woke up!” Obviously he’s fine enough; he’s made it all the way to his lunch break with no issue. Rumi punches his shoulder, angry that he’s not treating this as gravely as she is. “Do you still have all of your organs?”
He waves her off, utterly despondent. “Rums, you don’t understand how good it was. I’d give up a couple organs right now to eat that well again.”
