Summary
Veronica is a 23 year old graduate intern at a private practice specializing in patients with PTSD and other trauma when she crosses the street and gets hit by a yuppie on a car phone. She awakens at an eerie 7/11 and has a chat with her ex. After a lengthy back and forth Veronica awakes to find herself in her teenage body, with a chance to make right, what once went wrong and decides not to go to Heather's the morning after the party, but stay with JD. Because, "Veronica, you really did have a messed up life..." Are any of them really damaged beyond repair?

Wow. Just wow. This is an absolute work of art and nothing I've read before could compare to this in the slightest. The storyline is beautiful and in character, while still containing its sweet elements.
So I Can See My Baby When I Leave This World is a fix it fic (who'd have guessed) where Veronica gets into an accident and winds up back in 1989, granted another shot at a better life. She's given the task to fix J.D. and alter their fate… A heavy task.
PS The author also has a series of one shots linked to this story. Please read them for more of it, I love them all and they add so much to the storyline!

Amazing stuff! I personally loved this fic most not because it's a fix it fic (love those), but because it's so fluffy! Not used to that much fluff, but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate it.
Before They Convinced You Life Is War is an AU for Heathers where Veronica and J.D. grow up together, rather than their meeting in the original work. It shows their childhoods together and the moments they fell in love, with a ton of cute, fluffy moments between the two.

This was my first piece of fanfiction ever read on the Archive Of Our Own (AO3), and my goodness, I couldn't have asked for a better introduction to this world of fanfiction.
Forgiven is an AU for Heathers where J.D. survives and gets to right his wrongs. It serves as a sequel to the main story, full of twists and turns, betrayals, and most importantly, forgiveness. I'm a sucker for fix it fics, hence why I loved this story so much.
PS I found this fic in 2024 and finished it in 2025. Took me like half a year to read…
