“Why are you here?” Jotaro asks quietly. It’s so direct that it makes Kakyoin pause. He had forgotten that Jotaro hated beating around the bush.
“I could ask you the same question,” Kakyoin scoffs. “I know how to board a bus and get to a hotel on my own, you patronizing-”
“When Jiji said they were sending someone else he seriously meant you?” Jotaro questions, seemingly more to himself than anyone else, considering how he hunches inward, voice so quiet it’s almost hard to hear over the waves.
Kakyoin blinks, the heat of anger pausing in his chest due to overwhelming shock at the pure audacity. Kakyoin blinks again, and the anger resumes, about 20 degrees hotter. “Excuse me?”

Part 4 AU where Kakyoin is alive but at a cost. As he figures out how to pay that cost, he tries to help wrangle the Morioh kids while also trying not to strangle Jotaro (it'd be nice if they could also learn how to communicate again too, but Kakyoin attempts to be realistic).

Kakyoin shrugs, and Jotaro rolls his eyes, even as he lets him coax his shoulders down away from his ears with small brushes of his thumb, as if telling him, Down boy, as if he’s a dog.

The thought makes Jotaro’s breath catch in his throat. Is this love? Is that what it is? Does he want it to be?

Jotaro does know how to waltz. His father was a jazz musician, his mother raised on swing music – he knows how to waltz, and swing, and even some disco moves.
“No,” Jotaro utters, and Kakyoin’s smile widens.

Summary
When Jotaro kisses him for the first time, in their hotel room near the Saudi Arabian desert, Kakyoin doesn’t even register it as a kiss.
Later, when Kakyoin and Jotaro are alone in the latter’s room for the first time since Kakyoin was discharged from the hospital, Jotaro cups his jaw and swoops in, and Kakyoin loses his voice.
Further on, when Kakyoin is considering putting his book away and getting ready for bed, Jotaro enters their bedroom with a soft groan, crawls into the space next to Kakyoin, and meets him halfway when Kakyoin leans in.

Summary
“What,” Jotaro mumbles into Kakyoin’s mouth, nearly biting his tongue. (Kakyoin makes a disgruntled noise.) Jotaro gropes behind him and his fingers close over something smooth and rubbery. Hierophant Green’s tentacle struggles against his hand unhappily as he yanks it forward. (Star Platinum bristles along his spine, ready to burst out and tear Hierophant Green away, but Jotaro shoves it back down.) It’s one thing for Hierophant to steal Jotaro’s hat–it’s the same kind of shit Kakyoin pulls with his Stand on the regular. But this feels invasive. Kakyoin’s Stand forcing its way into something that’s supposed to be just the two of them.
