Summary
The legends say that Warden Ingo was so beloved by the great creator, that on the eve of his death, lord Arceus themself came down from on high and personally buried the warden’s body deep within the ground.
One hundred years is a long time for a soul to be buried beneath the earth, and nobody ever said that the warden’s soul was resting in peace.
There are repercussions to divine intervention.

Summary
When a weird old guy with a big mustache told Akari that she was going across the country and up a mountain to fight the forces of darkness she had firmly and impolitely said "No."
Unfortunately, her contractual obligations said otherwise. Now she was stuck in the wilderness fighting demons from another dimension and her only hope of making it out of this whole mess alive was a vampire with amnesia.
Which was ironic considering she was, ya know, a Vampire Slayer.

Summary
Sakura is twelve when she queues up in front a desk with a bunch of other equally-terrified looking shinobi. The ages range from younger than her to old enough to be her grandpa.
The man sitting at the desk is stony-faced as he doles out assignments. Sakura obediently shuffles forward when it is her turn, and recites her shinobi identification number in a shaky voice when asked.
When the provost marshal looks at her, looks down at his paper, looks back at her, and grimaces, Sakura knows it’s not going to be good.

Summary
Orochimaru-sama comes to the Academy and asks for the student with the best calligraphy.
“Only the girls learn it,” Iruka-sensei says, and Orochimaru-sama clicks his tongue like he disapproves. “But we have several capable young kunoichi.”
Sakura has the highest marks in calligraphy, higher even than Ino-chan. She has good marks in their painting class, too, and any class that involves holding a pencil. She tells Orochimaru-sama this proudly.
“How wonderful,” he says, and she’s giddy with praise from the legendary war hero.
He wants to see her write, so she does. They go to Iruka-sensei’s desk and both her teacher and Orochimaru-sama watch her. Orochimaru-sama asks her to write smaller and smaller. She does. He praises her.
“Yes,” he says, “I think you’ll do.”
