    Right at the edge of their survey site, the boundaries carefully drawn to ensure it was included, sat a stone. It could have been mistaken for a natural feature, were it not for one side of the massive stone being unnaturally flat, and though there was moss and lichen covering the greatly weathered face, there were a few small lines of engraving still barely visible.

    Alizia knew the stone well. She'd grown up in the town just at the foot of the mountain, and school trips and family hikes alike had taken her to the ruins, and to the Witcher Grave, as locals had always called it.
