Summary
Chase would forever be grateful that he had worked for House for two years before the others joined their team. Sure, all of House’s attention was on him in those two years, and anyone could tell you that that was a bad thing. But it also meant that he had gotten a lot of the initial humiliation out of the way before there was a bigger audience than Wilson.

Summary
Chase wasn’t paying attention to the conversation anymore. He let his head rest against the glass. The coolness of it was oddly comforting as he watched the trees go by. It made him feel almost human again.
or: A road trip to a medical conference goes south when Chase's body decides to give up on homeostasis.
AKA: same boring illness, different setting.

Summary
His breath passes through his body in cycles, and he allows himself to focus on it. The stretch in his muscles as his chest expands and back widens. Each inhale seems to unravel something in him, allowing the tension to bleed from his body.
Once more he observes Olruggio’s features, taking in the color of his eyes — an intriguing shade that reminds him of a star-filled sky — and the harsh line of his mouth. He observes the dark strands that fall across his forehead, the cut of his jawline, the bridge of his nose.
I want him and this life we built together.
I want to live.

Summary
Bruce Wayne has taken a shine to Clark Kent, but Clark is more interested in the Bat of Gotham. The Bat, however, has it in for the Superman in a big way. Clark should probably have considered that before falling quite so hard. They're working together to track down some missing Kryptonian weaponry, after all...

Summary
“What are your superpowers again?”
“I’m rich.”
Clark knows that he should be grateful to Bruce for helping Mom get the farm back, for making it possible for Clark Kent, Daily Planet reporter, to exist again. And he is, he really is. In more ways than he can describe.
But something grates. A bitter, choking taste.
Thing is, he knows that Bruce wants him. Likes him, even. But Clark doesn’t allow himself to acknowledge it. He refuses to even think about it. Refuses to become Bruce’s kept man, Bruce’s whore.
Too bad that there’s a rising organised crime syndicate in Metropolis that makes avoidance impossible. Not to mention his usual job as Superman.
(An exploration on the very different forms of power that Bruce and Clark hold, and the implications of that on their relationship, with special emphasis on class issues. Or, the aftermath of Steppenwolf: in which the world still needs to be saved, but there is no longer a convenient villain left to punch.
Subtitled: “How to (and Why) Save a Life.” Please note the tags and the warnings inside.)
Complete.
