Summary
Stede Bonnet had never been a spontaneous man; that is, until the day he decided to drive down the length of New Zealand in an effort to save his failing marriage, hitching a ride from a kind man named Ed to do so.
It's over 1600 kilometers between Auckland and Invercargill, and over the course of a week Stede and Ed find themselves experiencing and connecting with the various sights and scenes of their home country. And, well, maybe connecting with each other, too...

“Before he shot himself, Chauncey said it was all my fault. That I was a monster… a plague. That I brought the greatest pirate in history to ruin- that, that I… defile… beautiful things.”
And Stede looks at him with those big, honest, (beautiful brown) sparkling eyes, like he’s just confessed the most awful of crimes, and Edward, blinking, can’t help but be… well, confused.
“What? And you believed that? That’s fucking ridiculous.” It’s the first thing he’s said to Stede since the raid without any malice or hurt, just incredulity.

Summary
Occasionally, a black dragon with silver streaked wings emerges, circling the mountain, breathing fire. This serves as both a warning and a confirmation of his existence. This dragon, now known as Zarakûl in the Khuzdul tongue (translated as "Silver Shadow" in Westeron), fiercely guards his treasure. Not a single coin is allowed to be taken.
Thorin II, Oakenshield, the Mountain King-in-Exile, had succumbed entirely to the curse. Consumed by the sickness of gold, he has lost his name and his identity as a dwarf. He had become the embodiment of the dragon, forever known as Zarakûl.

Summary
In the course of her adventures, Bilbo finds herself pregnant. Without an offer of marriage from Thorin, she returns to the Shire to raise the child with the help of her family.
The King Under the Mountain is heartbroken that Bilbo chooses to leave Erebor, but he cannot blame her. Not after he tried to kill her. There was a time when she would have proposed marriage, but that time is clearly past. If all he can have of her are her letters, then he will be grateful for the missives.
Getting these two to talk just might take divine intervention. Or the intervention of a particularly interested child.
