Arthur isn't quite sure what he's expecting--Linus has come far since his arrival on the island, and is hardly faint-hearted any longer in the face of Lucy's antics, but Lucy is, still, very skilled in the art of scaring the living daylights out of people--but he isn't expecting the color to abruptly drain from Linus's face, nor is he expecting Linus to scream.

Summary
For Linus, this has never been a serious topic. These were nothing more than diets that he never had the courage to fully go through. It never was something troubling or problematic. Probably because he had the chance that it never went far enough to become something actually very serious and troubling and hold a more worrisome place in his life.
But the early warning signs were there, they always were.
It was a ticking bomb.
And now it just exploded.
(Or, Linus Baker has gained weight and he falls back into some unhealthy habits.)
