Rhaenyra Targaryen is on track to burn out after college—sure, she studies business to appease her father, but all she wants to do is fuck around and play the drums and make it to graduation. Enter Alicent Hightower, the prissy younger sister of her bandmate, Gwayne, who shares a class with her. She's far too mean, reminds Rhaenyra of every girl that would have bullied her in high school, has a douchey boyfriend, and listens to terrible pop music and nothing else. Couldn't be more opposite of Rhaenyra if she tried. However, when the two of them exchange notes and homework for their shared class, both of them discover that maybe they were wrong about each other. This, of course, is terrible news for everyone involved.

Summary
The issue Alicent has with Rhaenyra’s ego is simple—as a driver and a mechanic they have two very different jobs. Alicent’s job is to understand Rhaenyra’s relationship to the car and how it affects the build. Then, she has to accommodate. Alicent is always watching. Every turn of the wheel, every crash, every race start, every press of the pedal, Alicent is watching. It’s her job to count the flecks of rubber flying off the tyres at 360 KM/H. Rhaenyra, despite this, thinks she knows every fucking thing there is to know about her car. Alicent knows you can only see so much from inside. That’s something Rhaenyra refuses to understand.
Rhaenyra Targaryen is one of the most outstanding drivers in the world, with three F1 championships to her name and another season just kicking off. Alicent Hightower is the woman behind the car itself—the Number One Mechanic. Every build goes through her from chassis up. For two years, she's been working with Ferrari—specifically on Rhaenyra's car. The only problem with this is the two of them spend most of their time in the garage trying not to bite each other's heads off.

Summary
It's been ten years since Max sacrificed herself to save Chloe from Nathan. Victoria and Chloe hooked up somewhere in the aftermath, and by the time Kate runs into Victoria again, she's going by "Professor Price," teaching at the same college Kate's working at, and almost immediately pulling Kate into her strange life. Kate has to adjust to her new job as a victim advocate at a university, while simultaneously managing Victoria and Chloe's demands on her time and attention, but she starts to find that she doesn't mind it. That much.
But there's more going on in Kate's head than just nerves.
Takes place after "Cockroaches" and "Waiting for the Fever to Break." Significantly lighter in tone than those two. Could be considered a simultaneous band/professor AU, but the history of Blackwell is kept intact.
