Jim pulls back the comm to look at the little screen. They’re still connected.
“Spock?” He asks. Nothing. Jim is about to snap the comm closed in frustration, when he hears a ragged inhale.
“You’re on a roof?” Spock’s voice is deadly soft, flat and hard and…something else that Jim’s brain won’t process. Jim rolls his eyes. He grabs another drink and wrestles it open, taking three large swigs before he bothers responding.

Radek has been to far more deserts than he had ever dreamed of or wanted. Dozens of planets and dozens of deserts, yet none of them had had snow. Not with temperatures that are nearing forty degrees. He squints at the sky. What appears to be two suns peek from behind the clouds. Beams of hazy light drift across the desert. Here they are, hot sand beneath their feet and fat crystal flakes falling from the rolling grey sky.
Radek and Ronon are stranded in an endless desert. With their only way home not functioning and a deadly storm on the horizon, they survive.
