Summary
He had been in love with her for years and despite where they were now, he still was. They’d fought before, but not like this. Surely she’d forgive him eventually though. Forgive him for leaving, for defending Wheatley in an attempt to protect her. After all, they’d both planned to be squabbling with each other at 85. He couldn’t fathom anything else.

Summary
Rafael Barba didn't leave the DA's office to disappear; he left to become a father. For years, he and Olivia built a fortress of "blues and greens" around their quiet marriage. But when the ghost of Elliot Stabler returns with a car bomb and a decade of silence, the foundation cracks.
It's unforgivable
I stole and burnt your soul
Is that what demons do?
They rule the worst of me
Destroy everything
They bring down angels like you

Summary
A collection of post episode conversations between Olivia and Rafael, exploring their deepening friendship and where this could have led for them in an alternative to canon for season 17 of SVU.
———————————-
Rafael lifts his arm to rest on the back of the sofa, angling his body towards Olivia, his hand coming to rest next to her shoulder. She turns her body slightly to face him, pulling one leg up onto the couch and tucking her foot underneath her, leaning her head down to rest on his hand. She can see Rafael studying her face, like he’s trying to decipher her thoughts. She hates when he does that. He has an uncanny knack of knowing when she is hiding something of significance or when something is bothering her but she’s not sure how to talk about it.
“That’s not it though, is it?” he says, probing her gently into giving up what’s really on her mind.
She sighs, lifting her head up off of his hand so that she doesn't have to look at him. Damn him for reading her so well.
