“You did that on purpose.” Diluc said, frowning at Kaeya. The Captain shrugged.
“I had been dropping hints all day and I even said that I wasn't available, but some of them are really stubborn.” Kaeya placated, finishing his glass and licking his lips, tilting his head back to look at Diluc mischievously while his Alpha thumbed at the mark on his neck. “He's been following me around all day and I thought it would be nice to get my mate to chase some of the stragglers off once in a while.”
In which we get Diluc treating Kaeya gently before their joint heats and ruts kick in.

Summary
There's a reason why Alphas and Omegas were always separated. Ever since he'd presented, Diluc had been subject to the scrutiny and fear of 'what if' whenever he interacted with alphas, from others and from himself. It's difficult to trust in a world set against you.
Still, even after things happen, he finds there's at least one exception. Now he's just not sure if it's because they're meant to be because of chemistry, or if they actually are.
